I've had PS7 for a while now but I don't know how to put TTF fonts into photoshop.
Can someone tell me how?

You don't put it into photoshop, you install it onto your Windows Fonts. It will automatically show up in your photoshop fonts, just like your Word fonts. They all retrieve it from Windows. (unless there is some cool trick that has elluded me)

You copy the font file into the Windows\Fonts folder.

Am I mistaken in thinking that it is better to install the fonts rather than just copying them? If I'm right you should go to your font directory as specified by Miktar then go to file > install new fonts, a new window should pop up where you can specify the directory of the fonts you want to install.

Not sure what the difference is but thats how I was taught.

No as you copy and paste it automatically installs the fonts. It actually shows an install bar with progress.
There is no difference and if you were taught the long way then great but that is the long way.
I have about 100 fonts that I install every reinstall and I just 'extract to: C:\windows\fonts'
