All the PMs have been sent out. If you?re reading this thread and you haven?t received a PM from me, then you?re a typical villager. Otherwise, you already know what role you?re playing. Bear in mind that there may or may not be secret roles. Ones I haven?t mentioned before or ones that maybe even that particular person doesn?t know he plays. The game won?t be quite as simple as in the last incarnation, and there may be unexpected twists along the way.

Basic rules are as follows:
The game has two phases. ?Night?, when all the nefarious (and perhaps some friendly) people perform their deeds, and ?day?, the time when accusations fly and votes to lynch are made. The daytime activities will happen till around 4 in the afternoon every day, at which point I?ll tally the votes, and [insert reality show tagline here]. Well, suffice it to say that someone will die.

After that, we?ll have the night phase, where all the parties that have a night-time action will send me their targets (or whatever else it is they do at night ;) ) and at 8 o?clock, everything will be wrapped up and the results of that evening?s events will be posted. The night-time folks don?t have to wait till after 4 to send me their actions. As long as the relevant messages are sent sometime on that day I?ll accept them. It may be beneficial to know who is lynched that day, though, so I don?t recommend being hasty with your night-time antics if at all possible.

The villagers win when all those of ?evil? distinction are dead. Any players with exceptions to this victory rule will have been informed via PM.

Feel free to lie, to deceive, to claim roles (truthfully or not), but one thing IS prohibited: Do not quote (or attempt to quote) anything from a PM I have sent you about your role. Assume that those PMs were never sent, and that you simply ?knew? what role you had to play. Everything else is fair game.

Finally, private conversations amongst anyone BUT those on the ?evil? side are technically discouraged. There?s no way to enforce this, and it?s not truly game breaking, but know that the game is all about the interactions between players. Trading words and accusations in private lessens the information available that may help your side.

The game starts when I make the opening post. I?ll allow until tomorrow for everyone to read their role PMs, and perhaps for some opening deliberation between factions. The information in this post, as well as in forthcoming story posts, is all you will be given. Good luck.

It was an ominous evening in the village. Dark clouds loomed overhead, concealing the stars and the full moon. All of the townsfolk were cowering from the impending storm in their homes. At least, that?s what the ones who were cowering thought. They would quickly learn otherwise after being roused from their abodes by hysterical ramblings of the village drunk in the town square.

?The streets ain?t safe,? cried the drunk from the podium at the center of the square. Faint lights appeared around the courtyard as curious villagers poked their heads out of the windows or ventured out their doors.

?I?ve seen it wiff me own eyes! Devils walk the town at night. Vampires! One of ?em fiends tried t?kill me. Or steal me drink. I can?t tell no more.? He shook his mug violently at the assembling crowd. ?I did sees his face! T?was that ol? foo? -?

He paused, his sudden grimace visible in the moonlight that now poked through the clouds and illuminated the square.

?I say! He?s transmigrifocating,? said the village florist.

?That ain?t no real word. And even if it is, he wouldn?t know how to do that,? shouted a second villager.

?It is so! Me mum said that all the time.?

?It?s transmogrifying, you fat lout,? interjected a voice from one of the homes surrounding the square.

?Who said -?

The potential brawl was defused by a faint yet oddly resonating growl from the drunk. Or, at least, from what used to be the drunk. His furry form now stood awkwardly on all fours, no longer human, but not yet beast. The townsfolk?s shock was only amplified by the thud of the metallic rod piercing the beast?s hand-paw and pinning it to the podium, a ruthless and sudden act forewarned only by an almost inaudible flutter on the rooftops.

The drunk howled. And disintegrated. Only the silver rod remained, matted with fur and glistening with blood.

The town is infested by both vampires AND werewolves!

A final note:
If you?re making a vote to lynch, please BOLD the name of the person you?re voting to kill. If it?s not bold, I?m not going to count it. Also, only one vote per person per day. Once you?ve made your vote for a particular day, you cannot change it.

Right. First lynching happens tomorrow.
Go.

People, this is just a variation on the mafia game. Instead of mafia, we have werewolves and vampires...

And also... everyone saying they dont know are probably trying to feign innocence through way of saying they thought it was going to be mafia, thus certifying that they didnt get a PM which would've meant that they didnt know until now that its isnt mafia thats terrorizing the town!
Very smart... but I gotcha!

Anyways, I'd like to point out that Mods participating should be our first victims, since logic would dictate that they'd be chosen for a role by Chippit. Therefore I have to put Azimuth up on the cross to be burnt.

That attitude doesn't help if you're a villager or a villain. In the former you're basically putting risk in your chances to survive the game and in the latter you're giving away your position. Both are pretty stupid.

*Sits up straight and talking in a clear voice that carries, without being too obvious a hint to let people listen* We must strengthen the faith in this town. I have all the proof I need

A slip of a drunk werewolf's tongue.

A drunk werewolf's tongue is a narcotic drink that will kill your average person. Used in small dosage it can heal warts, make breasts grow bigger and cure hangovers. But it is also famed to be the only thing that can give werewolfs drinking pleasure.

I vote Tryxst3r should be hanged. He is the Devil in disguise. A wolf in sheep's clothing!

Stop trying to squirm your way out of this one. I knew there was something weird about you the moment you set foot in this town! And that look on your face when one of your own died, gave you away.

You leave the town for just a bit to see a play and again something has happened to the village drunk! Really, you'd think the killers could go after someone else once in a while.

Anyway, as usual I'm gonna steer clear of the bar. I might just be paranoid *looks around shoulder* but better safe then sorry. But it is for this reason that I find this a bit suspicous...
Ok... anyway, any objections to me being the bar tender at the tavern? Didn't think so. Everybody come to the tavern where the drinks are free. I think the drunk would've liked it if we drank a drink to his memory.
The owner of the bar would be very suspicous, but I doubt he'd kill off one of his regulars.

Just woke up, and walked into the bar to ascertain what the fuss was all about. He pulled an all nighter the nite before to prepare for his calculus exam, wrote it, and went back home to pass out.

The drunk transmogrified into a werewolf and there are vampires about!?!? And is transmogrified a real word? Could come useful in scrabble.... I lent that bugger 50 bucks yesterday, said something about an eye operation, well, I guess he doesnt need it now. Searches corpse and is only able to recover 20 bucks, and wonders what the currency is in this village

Goes to the bar and orders a whiskey, some silver bullets and a glass of water, then proceeds to bless the water, and wonders if the water is able to determine that he isnt a real priest, more importantly if the vampires are able to determine the difference between ordinary water, holy water and the stuff u get at the bar when u order water

This cant be good..... Wonders if he can use calculus to solve the debacle

He walks over to the town square, He stands up Tall and Proud "People Of <insert village name here>, We are under duress from the Evil ones. They Come te take our land! But we will not go gently into that good night! We will fight! We will fight for the innocent that we have lost!" Turns and looks at the corpse of the drunk no one even tried to bury. He takes some of his best flowers, makes a cross across his chest and places the flowers infront of his feet in memorial"People, I say to ye! Rise up against these wicked ones! We have a Holy Man in our midst, I durnt understand their kind, but it would seem to me that this holy man can sence the presence of the evil ones! And as such, I say we Kill the one they call BattleMoose! Even if we be wrong, then we shall know whether this holy man is a fake or not, If we're right, we stop ourselves from killing the only holy man that we have to guide us in these dark times!"

The crowd have assembled in the town square again, watching morbidly as the resigned and silent Garson007 is dragged up to the podium, prayer beads still in hand.

Despite jeers from the crowd and the onslaught numerous edible projectiles, Garson007 remains standing proud and unyielding. Well, his spirit was unyielding. He couldn't seem to convince his flesh not to yield to the silver-tipped wooden stake that was driven through his chest.

The crowd stares silently as the limp figure drops to the ground, waiting for a similarly spectacular death as was displayed the previous night. Eventually, either impatience or the enormity of their error weighed on them too heavily and they begin to quietly file out of the square, leaving the impaled body for the crows. And the shiny beads for the magpies.

The **** crows, the sun rises, and everyone walks cautiously out of the homes, quietly thanking every diety they could name that they were still alive. They quietly made their way to the agreed morning meeting place where their numbers would be summed to discover if anything unfortunate had befallen anybody. Inexplicably enough, the morning tally reveals only a single missing villager, quickly revealed to be R4mzy.

After much deliberation as to who would be the unlucky person to have to venture into his home and discern his fate, a young boy attempting to appear braver than was enters cautiously inside, only to emerge soon afterwards with a puzzled look on his face.

"He ain't there. All I found was this clump of fur lying in his bed," said the bemused child.

"He was killed and eaten by the wolfbeasts!"

"Nay. There was no blood. I thinks the vampires got'm and drank him dry before he dis'peared like that ol' drunk sod."

"But the fur?"

"He was a werewolf, ye dolts! The fur was his own," shouted a third villager.

They all stood around in contemplative silence for a while, until someone called out, "But why didn't the wolves kill tonight? Surely they would've."

Nobody had an answer to that question, but there was a palpable feeling of malice in the air. The townspeople was subconsciously and mysteriously aware that the werewolves certainly had tried. Something stopped them. And they were angry.

One down tonight.

A mob is a frightening thing, they say. A group of crazed people, wielding torches and pitchforks and whatever else they can find that looks intimidating but actually lacks offensive value. An indecisive mob is considerably worse, because it is just as likely to burn down what would be their only salvation than it is to do any good.

Thankfully, differences within were put aside for the sake of being punctual, and a common enemy was labelled and dragged into the open. That poor soul was Tryxst3r, a quiet lad who was about to have the contents of his torso violently reorganized.

As it turned out, those innards happen to be pretty much the same as those found in the last person to be dragged unwillingly onto the podium, and Tryxst3r's body was left alongside that of Garson007, both very much whole and lacking any indication of a willingness to spontaneously change composition. They haven't turned to dust or sparkly particles or any such supernatural substance, much to the townsfolk's chagrin.

Another innocent.

Yeah, papaya, what she said. The game is meant to be played with plotting, scheming and teamwork on the part of the villagers, but right now everyone has been so haphazard in their acting that no-one can actually tell who is who. So I guess +1 to evil. We're all screwed.

Should I, an innocent, be lynched tomorrow afternoon as a result of your baseless, superstitious meddling, and my torn body laid bare to the village for the untainted mortal that it is, I demand you take you own life as an honour debt. Should you not, it stands as testament to your total lack of human empathy, thus revealing you for the wicked would-be usurper that you are.

05-06-2008, 07:29 PM
Ok, guys, please use your heads. First off those Chippit interact with a lot have a higher chance of having some sort of role. So that's basically Azimuth, Squid, creep, TheLionsInnards, XennoX and Adabot, give or take a few just to make it seem more random.

Secondly, last night the person the werewolves attacked did not die. The role description of this person should be similar to my own. That is, the person attacked didn't get injured and one of the attackers is revealed to him. I don't know the mythology all that much, but I'm assuming the idea of a florist came to creep as part of his role description (that is my interpretation in any case), of course if there is nothing in a flower shop that wards off werewolves then that's pretty useless. Although it was odd since he didn't come out accusing someone straight away, then again I Don't Know might be one of the werewolf survivors. Why he then voted alone (I Don’t know) , I do not know, but it might just be the case since there was another popular vote before they could speak, and speaking too early might be disadvantageous.

With that said I have to make the conclusion that Azimuth is indeed not as helpful as she makes out to be (she admitted to having such a role, and if she was a normal villager she wouldn't lie (and make up the role), but might if she was a villain), since Chippit would not add two roles of this type since it'd be pretty overpowering together with the fact that she didn't accuse anyone and went for the popular vote - an incorrect one. I’m putting this here on the assumption that Azimuth would rather have the truth revealed than save her own skin and would therefore not have voted for the innocent but rather the person revealed to her.

So please look at all those people voted for, it’s almost certain that one of them is the werewolf that’s been revealed to the person who was attacked last night.

Edit: I'm sorry to those who feel cheated in that the dead coming to talk. Please don't PM me about it or whatever. People here seriously needed some help. The game is no fun if everyone just mud-slings everyone else, think, go through the data, make conclusions and vote. In no way do I assume myself to be correct, but at least I’m trying and I’m dead.

The morning tally was one of the most frightful events of the town's history. 3 people had gone missing in a single night. Nothing this massive had happened since that very attractive lady passed through town a couple of months back, and that was only two people. Two people who came back the very next evening looking very disappointed. Nobody expected these three to be seen again. At least not in one sentient piece.

And they weren't found in one piece. One of them, Repline, had made an awfully inconsiderate mess by dissolving into thousands of grains of sand right in his kitchen. Well, it would more accurately be described as an incongrous glob of mud since a party of others had slobbered over the heap so much that it was more of a gooey mush than a heap of sand. Muddy pawprints accompanied the scene, most of them on the ceiling.

In a completely unrelated event, and, in fact, in a completely different part of town, the remains of two werewolves were found. Both in the home of TheLionsInnards. Amongst one clump of fur was a single silver bullet, still mysteriously pristine, a sign of a weapon only bounty hunters and vigilantes are known to use. The second mass of fur, lying quite nearby, appears to have belonged to an accomplice who had come to check on his absent colleague and then had an equally unfortunate but completely different encounter with the entire gang of rival vampires. 5 versus one was hardly a fair fight for that furred beast, later identified as being Takiro.

You know that Xennox is really keeping a low profile. Plus that ancient talk (the thees and thous), probably got it from a very long live.

Here is my reasoning. Azi is innocent, she is the bounty hunter. If she did lie about this, she'll be the bounty hunter's next victim. If she is telling the truth (which I believe) she will be either the vampire's or werewolf's next target. Either way things don't look good for Azi since she spoke up about it. As well as Creep who is the florist and saw Takiro as a werewolf (which he was right about). Creep is also one of the innocents and a thorn in the werewolf's side.

Adabot who picked up on Prowling papaya's vote against Tryxst3r, seems suspicious. After that Repline (Who is now a known dead vampire) also then voted Tryxst3r. Azi voted out of self preservation against Tryxst3r. But then Xennox, Mad Don McKilt and Squid voted against Tryxst3r.

I don't know looks suspicious, but not suspicious enough, yet. I think he randomly chose Creep. IDK lay off Creep. He is innocent. Check Garson's post.

Otherwise the vilagers are doing well, extremely well. With 4 beasties down, and to top that off, 3 in one night. Two villagers dead, but by their friends hands. It seems that sort is taking out sort.

These are my theories, they might have some holes in them, but I feel that they are pretty correct.
