Walk Throughs

Has there ever been a game, that made you go "OOOHH, F%^k this, I'm getting a walk through!" or do you believe in doing things the right way, and do you frown upon those poor souls that "need" walk throughs.

Whats your thoughts.

First thing that pops to mind for me is Tomb Raider. The only Tomb Raider I've been able to finish without a walkthrough was Tomb Raider: Legend.

I remeber my mate used a walkthrough to find all the tags, oysters etc. in GTA: SA... I personaly thought that was pretty lame, would've taken the fun out of it for me.

No not really, I can finnish most games easily enough without a walkthrough, some just take longer then others (*ala Grim Fandango*).

But I -do- use Walkthroughs when playing through a game the second time, especially in games like Final Fantasy, in order to do -EVERYTHING- I possibly can in the game.

I used a walk through with the original Homeworld that game was damm hard, but I must say in that instance using a walk through did not ruin the game experience for me. That is the only real walk through I have ever used.

I use them when I have been going around the same level for hours on end and have not found the flipping key for the next level. Had that problem with Thief 2 and one of the final missions. Took me forever to find the key.

I used a walkthrough last night to find out where some of the COG tags in Gears of War are.
Im was missing 5 and just couldnt find them.

There was a section of Another code on DS where I needed a password. That was the only time I've used a walkthrough. The rest of the puzzles I did all on my own. :)

I'm stuck in Soul reaver 2, and I've had it! So I got a walk through :) and now that I know what I've missed, it's almost worse. friggen hell!

only if i get really stuck and i mean have no clue what do next then i will consult the walkthrough, last one i look at was for STALKER got stuck sewers and needed to find STRELOKS stash so sneaked a look :)

Honestly, if the difficulty of the game is impinging on my enjoyment I'll use a walkthrough, but only if really necessary.

I then make a sacrifice to the gaming gods to atone.
