North Korea agreed Sunday to account for and disable its atomic programs by the end of the year, offering its first timeline for a process long sought by nuclear negotiators, the chief U.S. envoy said.

Kim Gye Gwan, head of the North Korean delegation, said separately his country?s willingness to cooperate was clear ? in return for ?political and economic compensation? ? but he mentioned no dates.

Hill, a U.S. assistant secretary of state, said two days of talks between the United States and North Korea in Geneva had been ?very good and very substantive? and would help improve chances of a successful meeting later this month with Japan, Russia, South Korea and China in six-nation talks aimed at ending the North?s nuclear weapons program and improving relations between North Korea and other countries.

?One thing that we agreed on is that the DPRK will provide a full declaration of all of their nuclear programs and will disable their nuclear programs by the end of this year, 2007,? Hill told reporters, using the initials for the Democratic People?s Republic of Korea.

Hill said the declaration will also include uranium enrichment programs, which the United States fears could be used to make nuclear weapons.

?When we say all nuclear programs, we mean all,? he said.

Not really. Do you think the U.S.A will ever dismantle it's nuclear weapons program?

Third time lucky? Korea can't hold out forever..well actually it can as China can continue to keep it afloat.

I am one for world peace, and that is only a real plan if the US keeps it Nuclear weapons program!! It's called the Ballance of power..so long as the US has nukes, Russia will never luanch its nukes and visa versa. Same with China, so long as Super Powers all are in nuclear stale-mate we will never have a nuclear war...but if one of these do luanch one..it's WWIII!!!

Bad for us, good for Earth.

I dont think that huge amount of radiation and pure (explotion) force would be good for the earth.

After a few thousand years Earth will be better than new, the radiation will be gone and the creators filled.

If a nuclear war does happn follow this:

Follow the advice of 'elected' officials
Wear a sunsrceen of at least SPF45 to prevent radiation burn

Duck and cover

Keep in mind:bombs every ten (10) minutes for at least twenty (20) minutes, so keep calm, duck low and remember it will all be over soon

In the event of a nearby nuclear strike of twenty megatons or more, expect variable hour of operation at your local stores and businesses

Despite what some anti-nuclear exchange activist and communists might tell you, stockpiling food won't help you...but your government can

If you see looters,do not join them as they may be communists. The national guard will be along soon...to mantain order

The taller the building the safer you are

The shockwave from a nuclear explosions is very similar to your every day earthquake. For maximum personel sercurity, stand in a door frame

And remeber, nuclear exchange is for national security and your long-term protection. So put your best face forward, chest out, and show those foriegner what your made of!
