Unfortunately production on the film has trickled close to a halt, and the release date has been pushed back by a year.

Crap, any reasons that you know about that can be shared?

I think he looks about right.

I'm looking forward to it. I hope they've got some of the writers from the SoT trilogy. I really liked how they brought it full circle at the end of 2thrones, and some of their subtle touches here and there.

I really wish I had more time for gaming, as I'm dying to replay the PoP series, but have got some much else to do/play first.

Wow.

For many reasons. But this looks good! Sucks about the production halt; I'm curious as to wry though.

The official reason is because the original release date coincided with the release date for Transformers 2. I've not heard any insider gossip about any other reasons though, although I am sure there must be a few.

It sucks. I was due to start working on the film next month, but now it looks like that won't happen.

You're working on Prince of Persia?

I'm now your no.1 fan. Just cause. Also, Jake looks almost perfect,

Well I was scheduled to, but now I have no idea what the hell is happening.

The concept art is insane. I was really looking forward to starting work on it.

Gah... Prince v2 - the whiny emo stupid one. Not shiny happy v1 with the hammerpants or wiser, trickier v3 :(

He is actually alot taller than I thought. Or maybe everyone else in the picture is just really short :D
I think that he looks fine as the prince.

^^^
The lady next to him is Reese Witherspoon I think. She does have a somewhat petite build.

dislekcia is right, it does look like Donnie Darko Prince of Persia.

He needs better boots. I cannot see him running along walls and backflipping off of them in such heavy attire. We need boots more akin to those used by the Hashsashin in Assassin's Creed.

Go hammerpants!!!! :D

regardless, he is a good fit for the role - he has the 1000 mile stare* down pat :D

Come on, let's be reasonable here. In the context of a feature film, a scrawny dude leaping around in baggy white pants is just going to look silly.

Woah, To think that's the guy from The Day After Tomorrow! That's pretty cool.

He looks okay...abit like he's been hit in the face...but okay.

I really hope the movie 'setting' or 'music' is either
shiny happy v1 or
wiser, trickier v3. Emo Prince was a bizarre twist for the series -even though he saved it.

I smells ratses. With release dates coinciding it would make far more sense to get filming done, get started on post-production and go slow with that. Even get it finished and just hold release for 2 weeks, Transformers 2 isn't going to be a juggernaut like Dark Knight for 4 or more weeks.

Delaying the movie a whole year is...odd.

Sounds more like finances have dried up. The only logical thing I can think of.

To me Jake Gyllenhaal looks like the dude from Spiderman. They need a more hardcore Prince, like Vernon Koekemoer.

...

Legend of Fong Sai Yuk
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Hero
House of Flying Daggers

All had the baggy, leaping thing down AND looked awesome beyond belief. It's the tight pants that look daft :(

In the end I don't really care about the pants much. Despite my normal utterances. It's what the pants mean for the character that I'm really concerned about. After all, pants are the windowframes of the soul.

I'm sure that sounded a lot funnier in your head.

See.

Um.

I think those kung-fu movies look silly.

While not denying the distinct scent of possible ratses, I do totally understand why the Transformers release would make them push the release date back - however, an entire year is a bit odd. I don't think finances have dried up though, because the film had big backing. It's more likely to do with politics in the industry than anything else. I am sure they will wrap the shoot itself, but you can't really go slow with post production, because it's expensive. It's more likely to simply shoot, then go on the shelf for a while before heading into post prod.

This pic brings back memories of the POP series. Now where did I put those disks? I am going to start playing it again.
And the movie?
Will probably be a trilogy. Today?s producers like the trilogy idea. I just hope that it will be a pleasure to watch. Most movies that come from a game are usually a disaster? Let?s hope that they get this one right.

Makes sense, when you said production had slowed I assumed you meant the filming part as well.

And the villain is: http://ps3life.nl/data/upload/53noe-20081014-1224003452.jpg
This guy

Namely, Ben Kingsley, of Oscar fame for his potrayal of Ghandi in the film of the same name.

I am sure that he will do well in the role, even though I'm not too happy with this pic from a hair standpoint I'm sure the final product on-screen will have me saying differently.

LOL!... Ghandi plays the bad guy! Some contrast! :p But yeah, that guy is an awesome actor, his role as Ghandi was priceless. Great movie, see it if you have not yet (it's just a bit long).

If I ever do watch that movie again, I think it's gonna be a bit strange after seeing this... lol.
