I'm sure many might think I got my nick from Scorpion in Mortal Kombat. But its actually from the real Scorpion animal. Though I do like Scorpion from MK.

I chose it because I like Scorpions. :p

When I was playing WC3 I was struggling to find a nick that fit. At the time many of the so-called gosu Korean players were using abstract words for nicks. In an attempt to emulate them I chose the nick Surprise and it just stuck.

I have used Doomhorn, Duathor and Acheron to name a few.

On a side note, I noticed the other day that I used nicks that are the same as the names of the two ships involved in the film Master and Commander (Surprise and Acheron). This is pure coincidence however.

Well, let's see, I have a great respect for the Japanese swordsman - not necessarily Samurai, more the art of the sword and those that represent it - eg Musashi and Bokuden.
Then I discovered the 'Sword Saint' Legacy of katana in Neverwinter Nights - aka 'Kensai'

Combining my respect of the sword with my paladinic tendencies, I adopted the name 'Kensai'
After much embarresment I discovered subsequently that 'Kensai' was a Americanized version of 'Kensei'

So here we are today, "Kensei" :D

I was once known as 'S.Q?' in many moons ago, back in Tribes 2 days.

My nick came from my love of the ocean. I used to work as a Dive Instructor while volunteering for NSRI as a Rescue Diver and some of the things that I saw underneath the ocean were absolutely awe-inspiring. I also spent a couple of weeks in the carribbean diving and it was the best time of my life. It was like a blue paradise spotted here and there with islands which looked like it went on indefinately. Anyway, I needed a nick and infinitely_blue just seemed appropriate because of that time of my life which I treasured.

Btw The reason I chose infinite as the beginning part comes from diving depths of 30m. There is a point while you are going down if the water is a bit murky that you cannot see the ocean floor or the surface. Everything is just different shades of blue.

ok hmm were to begin
back when i was playin tribes2 i couldnt think of a nick and in the single player the dude was LoneWolf ok so i took that

to make it slightly more original i made it DarkLoneWolf (also used DarkLoneWolf22)

a while down the line i decided to have a nick change so i took DarkLoneWolf and combined it with something my WoW guildies called me The Master Shadow Priestess (i was a ****ing awesome shadow priest took out just about any one *this was before 2.0*)

The tinman, or tin woodman is my favorite fictional character ever.

He starts out as Nick Chopper, a woodsman who earns his living chopping down trees. Then one day he falls in love with a girl, and the wicked witch of the East casts a spell on his axe in order to prevent him from ever marrying her. This works as the axe chops each of his limbs off one by one, but everytime this happens he replaces it with a Tin prosthetic. It finally gets to the point where he replaces his entire body, but forgets to replace his heart and cant lvoe the woman he fell in love with in the first place.

This leads him onto his journey with Dorothy, the scarecrow (who wants a brain) and the cowardly lion. They journey to the emerald city all looking for something they are missing. Along the way tinman and scarecrow engage in various debates over which is more important the heart or the brain, because each of them is in pursuit of differentt organs, so to speak. It reflects the philosophical intelligence-emotion debate etc.

When they finally get there, Tinman is not given a heart but rather a velvet replacement which obviously just wont do. However, on reflecting upon their travels Tinman realises that he does not need an actual heart as he was always abole to show compassion, empathy etc, so he in effect had what he wanted all along.
