I have never stressed like I am now. Im going for my drivers license this wednesday and apparently I HAVE to get it, or i MIGHT lose my job because I must have my license and I havent worked here for 3 months. So I need all the encouragement, crossed fingers and held thumbs for wednesday. Thanx in advance ;)

GL. Have fun.
Don't stress too much. Worrying is as useful as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing gum, don't ya know.

Good luck but even if you don't get it you can't be fired if they knew you didn't have a license unless they hired you with the provision that you got your license within a certain amount of time.
South Africa has got very good labour law, it is very difficult to fire some one without a very valid reason, most people just don't know this and accept that they don't have a job anymore

The condition was that i have to get my license in a certain time, this is my only chance. I dont think ill just be fired though, but you never know.

I did my drivers test for the first time this morning. Wasn't that bad at all.
The guy testing me was a mean bastard, but meh, it's over now. I lost 45 points total.
So it's all good.
:D
Turkish got blisters. And he got banned
Anyways. Good luck for your Drivers :)
I also need to do mine soon. Scared ****less.
But it will be alright :) Thumbs up

Good luck. Got mine 2 weeks ago on my second try. Got such an awesome instructor though, we started chatting about how our country is screwed and what bull**** BEE is and all about his car and his wife's car and how I should get out of the country asap. I lost 5 points for the road test.... he was an oldish white guy.
Actually chilled out so much when we started chatting that I barely made a mistake. The things you need to remember:
-ALWAYS do every single check.
-If you might knock into an obstacle during parking, take your second attempt.
-Wear a cap so they see can you're doing your checks.
-DO NOT become intimidated if the guy starts putting on pressure. Just ignore him and do what you know.
^^
All the things I learnt from my first test...

If all else fails you might slip the tester a few Rand, just not alcohol, that will get you failed.

My Tutor for the Theory part once told me a lovely story about an 17 year old that attended his driving examination in a drunk state. Now this is STUPID, you cant say more.

GL :) It will be ok. Try not to get too worked up, because your nerves will **** you up

Well, for my first test (that I failed), I had smoked weed the day before. I wasn't 'stoned' per se, but a little offish.... probably one of the stupider things I've done in my life =/
Just don't get worked up. The more nervous you are, the more screwed you are. The first time my leg was shaking so much that I couldn't even control the clutch properly.
My friend told me a hilarious story about a 'family friend' who recommended that she take a bottle of Jack as there's this old guy at the station she was being tested at that passes anyone who gives him a bottle of Jack. She got the 'old guy', offered him the bottle and needless to say, he failed her and banned her from taking the test for a year. That 'family friendship' turned into a 'family feud' after that!
Oh, and if you do get very nervous easily, then get a bottle of Rescue Remedy. It's completely herbal and really helps. I drank nearly a whole bottle for my second test and was as calm as a seal pup in an aquarium.
