Just started playing the beta, and holycrap, is it pretty. The gameplay is pretty interesting, it's a bit like Ground Control but you have roles like Battlefield 2 (I tend to pick Infantry, which means I can only request Infantry units). The role element keeps you focus on what your units can do, instead of confusing you with all the game units at once. It's really tactical and fun, with the same push/pull element of capturing control points that Battlefield 2 has. Yes, the game is an RTS, but you can't build buildings so it's a Tactical RTS like Ground Control 2 and others of the same ilk. You play Axis vs Allies US vs Russia (it's not WW2, but 'modern' warfare) and multiple people are on the same side, controlling different roles and calling in airstrikes, tanks and etc. It's hard to explain, actually, but if you're at all interested from the shots I recommend giving it a look once it hits public beta or gets a demo.

WOW! Looks fun. I see some craters of shells and the like, is their a full damage model? What I mean by that does every shell, bullet and bomb make a dent in the terrain/buildings.

it looks like the artillery make actual holes in the ground and not just dirt marks.

Yeah, the artillery permanently deforms the terrain.

I love Company of Heroes for it's great cover system, is there anything like that in this game?
I'd really like to see that feature implemented some more.
Looks pretty damn good though.

Those shots do look good. Reminds me of Company of Heroes. Allies vs Axis? In those shots it seems like USA vs Soviets. Miktar, can you elaborate on the members of the Allies and the Axis.

Some pretty snazzy special effects at work there...especially the explosions/smoke/dust.

Amazing texture, and it looks like superb lighting & smoke 2. What is the gameplay like Mik? And how larger are the maps? Will it have a campaign or only multi?
Can't wait for this one.
