Now with a trailer. (http://www.sdarko.com/)
I still think this film was a mistake.

May i ask why?
Never heard of this Darko thing . . .
I really hope to be proven wrong on this, but theres no way to recreate the first films wonder... this just feels like a epic cash in...

Not the same director.
The originality of the first film was what made it for me.
The fact that it's an obvious cash-in.
Fail.
The actor who plays Chuck in Gossip Girl is the only redeeming factor for me. Yes I watch Gossip Girl.

Read here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donnie_Darko) for more info.
Donnie Darko was an awesome movie and incredibly original and thought provoking, not to mention quite disturbing.
Once-off movies like these that should remain once-offs are why we are getting upset that a sequel is being made. Just think about a once-off movie you love and imagine them making a random sequel many years later without any of the original cast or crew. That is why this movie should not be made, its insulting what the original Donnie Darko movie put out there.
Also, the trailer seems to suggest that the sequel missed the point of the first movie....completely...
And that's all I have to say about that.
Its gonna turn into another Starship Troopers disaster. *Sigh* I just hope people are gonna see through the bull**** and leave their money in their pockets. Or maybe we shouldn't judge the movie by it's trailer.

Generally, movies that hire a different cast or just a different actor/actress never turn out to do well. for example i refuse to watch the new underworld simply because Kate beckinsale isn't the lead. So i have my doubts as to whether this is going to be even remotely good.

The trailer doesn't make any sense, it's like it's not even in the same world as Donnie Darko.
Yeah I'll just give this a miss.
