Who do you play?
You're a freelance spy, and your clients hire you to steal sensitive data or technology.

What do you do?
You break into high security buildings by rewiring the electronics. You can use a Crosslink gadget to see how all the lights, switches, cameras and doors are wired up, then drag a connection from one to another to make them work however you want.

Example?

You come to a security camera and a locked door.
Switch to Crosslink mode, and you can see the camera is wired to an alarm - if it sees you, the alarm will bring a guard running.
So you drag a connection from the camera to the door.
Now when you walk in front of it, the door swings open instead of the alarm going off, and you're in.

Looks like those earlier rumours were true; let’s hope some of the other ones aren’t. Microsoft fired out a bunch of emails to spread the word: their next Xbox reveal will take place on 21 May. You’ll be able to watch it live on Xbox.com or over Xbox LIVE from 7PM South African time.

The reveal comes mere weeks before E3, which kicks off from 11-13 June.

Over the last few months we’ve been hit with an outpouring of next Xbox rumours suggesting no backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games; constant Internet connection requirements; backwards compatibility through an add-on device sold separately; a backwards compatibility add-on device that’s standard with all next Xbox consoles; an Xbox Mini media streaming device and Xbox LIVE Arcade machine; no constant Internet connection requirement; you name it, the rumours have cropped up, been contradicted and scrutinized until weary games journalists finally cracked under the constant to-and-fro of trying to keep up with all of this.

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a application that will sync 2 folders on 2 different computers that are connected via my router (one wired the other wireless). Basically what I want to do is be able to copy files to a specific folder on my PC and for the program to automatically copy those files over to my laptop in the same named folder, having 2 identical folders with identical files. I don't want this to apply generally over my whole computer but rather isolate it to that one specific folder.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Awesome fun, you guys should check it out, at the moment its a 4 vs 4 settings, with team death match, capture the hammer, capture points and capture shards. Closed beta should be in about a month or two.

Quote:

Nintendo is going after Youtube "Lets Play" video creators that have uploaded videos of their titles and demanding any ad revenue they may have collected from them.

The gaming giant is registered as a Youtube partner and logged its copyright content in the Youtube database in February this year. Any ad revenue from a video featuring Nintendo content will now as a result go to Nintendo as opposed to the video's uploader.

Videos that have not had ads placed in them by their creators but that feature Nintendo content will also have ads placed in them retroactively with their revenue compensating the company.

In a statement to Gamefront, Nintendo explains that the move will affect very few fan videos and that this is a part of an initiative to make sure that its content is enjoyed in an 'appropriate and safe way', implying that the company simply wants to exercise some control over the Lets Play scene. Also, it is not looking to take these videos offline.

'We continually want our fans to enjoy sharing Nintendo content on YouTube, and that is why, unlike other entertainment companies, we have chosen not to block people using our intellectual property," said a Nintendo spokesperson in the statement.

In a blog post published on Develop by Thomas Was Alone developer Mike Bithell, encourages other developers not to follow Nintendo's lead as they risk cutting out a key publicity channel. He points out that the PR his title received from the Lets Play community resulted in Thomas Was Alone outselling Assassin's Creed 3 on Steam, a significant achievement for an indie title.

The amount of ad revenue earned by even the more established Lets Play video creators is unlikely to be terribly significant and will vary depending on the type of ad and the value attached to your viewership.

Youtube's ad guidelines do also state that videos which contain video game footage are not eligible for monetisation which suggests that Lets Play videos have been breaking the platforms guidelines for some time anyway.

The Lets Play community is understandably shaken by Nintendo's move. Zack Scott, a Lets Play creator with an enormous catalogue of videos that have accumulated more than 81 million views said that he will not be doing any more videos on Nintendo games while they are taking this stance.

'I think filing claims against LPers is backwards. Video games aren't like movies or TV. Each play-through is a unique audiovisual experience. When I see a film that someone else is also watching, I don't need to see it again. When I see a game that someone else is playing, I want to play that game for myself,' said Scott on Facebook.

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/...ube-ad-reven/1

I think this is a bit of a **** move, to be honest. The revenue they'd be getting from this isn't significant enough to make any change to their financial position, but it was a nice little extra income for Let's Players, just as a sort of repayment for the effort they put in.

Then again, the WiiU has no games so I guess the money needs to come from somewhere.

The limitations of EOP are as follows
Devices must live behind the- same old type analog power meter (Note new digital type power meters may now pass the signal , it is recommended that you purchase brands that have utility software to allow for changing of the private network name from that of its default )
they can live on different circuit breakers or fuses as long as the above criteria is adhered to.

Scribblenauts Unmasked contains the entire DC Universe

Scribblenauts Unmasked contains over 2000 characters and their variants — it has 33 different Batmans — plus items and vehicles from DC Comics’ nearly 80-year history. Including Aquaman, whom no one will ever use.

“We have all the DC Comics characters, the entire roster,” says senior producer Caleb Arseneaux. “We’re talking people who are mainline, New 52 Justice League and also characters who appeared in one panel in one comic in 1976.”

Arseneaux confirms Unmasked also has 130 Green Lanterns, pretty much the entire Corps., plus the entire Blackest Night cast of Red, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Indigo, Violet, and Black Lanterns.

It also goes to a lot of familiar places in the DC Universe. We got a good look at the Batcave and Oa, home of the Green Lantern Corps., which featured a nice vista of futuristic green spires in the background. Other levels include Gotham City, Wayne Manor, and Wonder Woman’s home island of Themyscira.
So with the GT6 reveal taking up most of the hour that's just passed, I'm heading into the Google I/O event. I/O is the premier developer even for Google's services and they also talk new standards there as well, like HTML5 adoption and all sorta of other things. The I/O keynote is said to be three hours long (I damn hope not!) and we'll see if we can join in the fun. Luckily, there is a live stream. Sadly, its just gone down.
The live stream glitches out for me now every minute. At least this isn't Silverlight, which would just refuse point-blank to load for some sessions in the past. Still, very disappointing.

Also, the keynote is apparently STILL running.

It could be that the trading card system is a means to trade CD-keys between one another.

Any ideas? If this was a way of trading your old Steam games to other people (for a small fee) would it be awesome? Or could it just be a trading card game of sorts?

In another major shift, the company announced it would share access to the popular BBM text and video messaging app across other smartphone platforms, for free. At "summer" launch, it will be available on iPhones with iOS 6, and Android phones with the Ice Cream Sandwich OS version or better.

"The BB10 platform platform is so strong, we think the time is right," to make BBM available across competing devices, Mr. Heins said.

If you’re already a fan of BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), we’ve got some exciting news designed to make it easier for you to connect with your entire mobile social network. BlackBerry plans to make BBM, our wildly popular mobile messaging service, available for the first time to iOS® and Android™ users this summer, (subject to approval by Google Play and the Apple App Store, as applicable). This means that, once available, you can welcome your friends and family using these other mobile platforms to connect over BBM and share in the Team BlackBerry love.

As we’ve chronicled on our Inside BlackBerry blog for some time now, BBM set the standard for mobile instant messaging with fast and reliable service and an added layer of engagement with delivered and read statuses. What do you guys think? Would you use it? Is this BlackBerry admitting that their hardware is nowhere, and that they can make money only from this service?

Independent Communications Authority of SA (ICASA) councillor Marcia Socikwa said that the mobile operators have sufficient spectrum, and that they need to optimise the network and improve quality of service. World Wide Worx MD Arthur Goldstuck called this argument absurd.

Speaking on an SAFM interview, Socikwa said that “this is the way it really is. The cry for additional spectrum by the mobile operators surprises me, because they have sufficient spectrum from where we are sitting”.
“All they need to do is invest in optimising the network and improve quality of service. Then we will have a further conversation about whether they need more spectrum,” said Socikwa.
“For now, we don’t think they do until they can improve on these two parameters.”

Vodacom spokesperson Richard Boorman dismissed Socikwa’s views, arguing that they situation is not so straight forward.
“We have been talking about digital dividend spectrum for years now, and still it has not happened,” said Boorman.
“There is some very attractive spectrum which can be put to good use for the people of South Africa, and just need the regulations to go through and free up the spectrum,” said Boorman.
“We have a natural resource that we are not using at the moment,” said Boorman.

Arthur Goldstuck called Socikwa’s argument absurd. “I would love to hear the basis of suggesting that the networks have enough spectrum when we have seen how they had to jump through hoops to start rolling out LTE.”
“They had to re-farm spectrum designed for 3G to roll out LTE, and ICASA’s argument holds no water whatsoever,” said Goldstuck.
“There is a desperate need for spectrum, and if you want to see where spectrum is not used effectively all you have to do is look at Telkom. They have huge allocations of spectrum which is not being used.”

Socikwa retorted, saying that the only reason why the mobile operators are re-farming spectrum for LTE is because they are not getting extra spectrum.
“If we keep dishing out spectrum to the major operators, it means that we cannot allow new entrants into the market,” said Socikwa.
Socikwa said that they want to see the efficiency measures from the mobile operators before they hand out new spectrum.
“They are not giving us any sense of the value that we are getting from the spectrum which they already have,” said Socikwa.

New entrants? Really? Like who?

The dead in the water Sentech finally gave up their unused spectrum they hogged, so now ICASA is hogging it? I smell some political BS.
Is anyone else playing this? I've been playing it since last week and I actually really like it. Combat is sort of like that of GW2, except it uses somewhat more traditional MMO gameplay mechanics, which is nice. You can also customize your build by choosing which skills and abilities to place on your hotbar.

So far it doesn't seem to contain any P2W, which is good.

If anyone is thinking of joining, most of us seem to be playing on the Dragon shard. I'm Zewp the Elf@Zewp, or Zewp@Zewp, depending on which of my toons I'm currently leveling. It will probably be the former, because he's a cleric and there aren't nearly enough clerics in the game.
