F_CKING FINALLY. It's taken long enough - they better be working on something fantatic regarding bullet-time, cause that was one of the major elements of the original, and it's pretty much been done to death by every other game, so they better pull out all the stops.

I honestly don't like the image cover thing. Doesn't feel ... Max Payne-y.

Really hope they don't screw it up, I absolutely loved No. 1 and 2.

I was thinking the same thing Wiggles. I don't think that guy on the cover looks remotely like Max Payne. Could just be the beard though.

The cover reminds me of Nico.

I hope they bring back the sad and crazy monologues. It really gave the game a nice atmosphere.

Does anybody here think that Rockstar has any hope of making a half-decent sequel to the two games that basically made my childhood (along with Mafia and Gothic)?

If the original devs of Mafia ****ed up the sequel, what chance do Rockstar have on cooking up something that won't turn out a complete rip-off of Man On Fire?

    Thoughts, please.

I'm of the opinion that, if anyone can do it, Rockstar can. Which studio is making this one?

    Rockstar Vancouver, I think.

Besides the fact that Max Payne 2 wasn't perfect already, it still manages to be a worthy sequel in my mind because of it's noir nature and the fact that it's just damn ****ing depressing, same as the first game.

And, at the end of Max Payne 2, everyone dies. So really, the only person left is Max. So, story-wise, it's as much of a dead end as can be - this is why MP3 is gonna be set in Sao Paolo instead of New York. That was what I meant about the Man On Fire rip-off: the tiny plot outline available is basically the premise of Man On Fire (minus Denzel).

    So... Yeeaah. :(

If the entire original team got back together and made the next one, I'd be excited. But they're not, so I'm not.

Mona survives if you play it through on all the difficulty levels.

I don't know what to expect from this next game. The concept art I've seen so far shows Max as washed out, drunk and bearded. The beard might help, but the story, the style? We'll see.

Also, I'd like to see them push the physics. Let me blow up walls into their separate bricks and doors off their hinges. Liquid physics for fuel barrels and fire! You know, stuff like that.

Yeah, because everybody would use the ending for the last difficulty as a continuation point. Be realistic, dude... The first ending is the one that counts - the one where everyone got owned.

And yeah, it would be cool to see some current-gen stuff in that game type. But, like... Why ruin the franchise? Just make a 3rd-person shooter with slomo and a new character... Max Payne has killed like a thousand people and had to stand by as they made that piece of **** movie... Rockstar should just let him get old in his retirement home.

EDIT: ALSO, Sam Lake isn't writing it. So it's gonna auto-FAIL in the story department.

Are there any previews or anything out to base opinions on? Or is this just idle speculation?
