Well, weve identified all the stupid questions.. And you guys goto stop starting your questions with saying "This is probibly a stupid question". If is that anyways, start it with atleast, If I bring my own cables will the gremlins steal them..?
Then atleast it will be something intertaining for the one's answering you...
I have looked through the forum and have not seen anything about external hardrives. As I have read you are not allowed a multiplug. So what do laptop owners do who have limited space and use externals to house their backups?? My laptop will use allot less power than the behemoth towers some people have. u can't change the plugs for the externals obviously.
You have two plugs to use for screen and pc box only. If you want a bigger HD you should have rather kept the money you used on the external and used it on a internal laptop HD or an Laptop external HD that runs from USB alone.
Please can i get an admin/mod/NAG Staff/RAGE Staff to get back to me via PM/Post about my earlier post.
Thx
Hi all looking forward to attending rage this year for the first time. Just want to check up on a rumour i heard. Do they actually check all the software on your machine like when you enter or during the even, dunno if i like the idea of a stranger rummaging through all my personal info.
You dont run your anti-virus a lot do you? or have you ever seen a person with 5TB do a full virus scan? It takes ages.
It would take them one week to check all the gamers in if they had to Plug in , boot , and scan through all your files.
Dont believe stories , and stop hanging out with people who tell you they know everything , they probably know less than a pre-schooler.
On a lighter note , 6 days!
Piracy, theft, corruption and murder runs rampant because of the decay of the moral standards in our society.
People aren't guided by a moral compass, they are controlled through fear of law! and when the enforcers of law are inadequate or incapable of enforcing the law people run rampant and just do what the hell they like.
So looking at the advice given by the last few posters it is ok to steal and pirate and do what the hell you like because you won't be caught.
I am so optimistic about the future of this planet (/sarcasm), it makes me scared for those that don't have a moral compass.
So listen to my little rant or just do what the hell you like because the law wont be there to track you down but the moral compass will still guide my path.

Thanks for the info guys, i always like to be sure about things. Don't want to pitch up there and have problems. Just for the record though i am agtainst piracy and own an original copy of windows xp, i also encourge others to do the same as i did with the friend on whose behalf i asked the question. But it is a process, we change the world by buying one legal copy at a time.

Should I have missed any questions, please post them again. Do however try and ensure that it hasn’t been covered.
Any more talk of piracy, either partaking in it, or owning any such software will result in a one week ban.
I cant wait for it to start but still this horror haunts me that i wont be able to get my ticket in time
When I selected my HDD for my laptop it was the biggest in the 7200 rpm range. USB powered HDD are expensive and not very big, they also dont provide firewire or esata ports. one does not always want bigger since HDD in a laptop, u want speed. as it is a primium in a laptop u get what u can. In desktop world HDD are pretty fast and dont cost that much. will wait for the 500gb solid state to become cheaper and i will put two of those in. until then i can use the other plug meant for my screen for my external.
Something needs to be done about the queue outside the LAN entrance. Last year there were about 30 people camping out against the roller door. Security had to ask them to move in order to open up. Throw up some people barriers or something. Get a proper queue environment going. The doors open and all of a sudden it's a free for all, nothing resembling order in sight.
They dont go through your computer, but they plug in a power cable, you turn it on as soon as they realised it hasnt tripped the power you turn it off, also if you have crt they test it, if you have a lcd they don't... Thats all so part of the story was true :P
