Thread: Your best injuries :O

I got one of my front teeth knocked out playing hockey when I was 9, I tore the legaments in my foot (can't remember which) when I was 8. It was just before we went on holiday too.

Most recently (near the end of last year) I was hit by a taxi while crossing the road to get to my lift's house. I was following road safety (look left, left and left again) when this taxi came out of nowhere and BAM.

I was rushed to hospital, but there were no docters there, so I was rushed off to another hospital. Luckily this one had docters. There were no major injuries.

The lady who was driving the Taxi said she would make me a cake

    THE CAKE WAS A LIE!!!

Fell of a mountain bike a few years ago and ate about 20 meters of dirt, don't have any memory of it - just remember my friend carrying me back to my house. Ended up being a concussion with some scrapes on my face.

Broke my arm in school a few years ago, fell on some stairs... I never knew breaking an arm could be so painless. I probably went on for about 5 minutes before realizing /something/ was wrong with it at all. ;p

All I can say for dislekcia is... wow.

I haven't had it too bad.

I've had a few skateboarding falls but no broken bones from it.

When I was 10 I got hit by a scooter (yeah, I know), I just got a few scrapes and a broken foot. I was lucky he didn't go right over me.

I was an angry kid, so I used to punch stuff for fun or when I felt angry. So, once I punched a wall and broke my (pinky) knuckle, that knuckle doesn't exist now. My right hand doesn't feel right when compared to my left hand.

I once ran into something sharp (corner of window frame) and cut my head open when I was 18 I think, damn that bleeds a lot. I was soaked in blood and had 5 or so stitches, it seemed scary but wasn't really too serious (that's what the doctor said).

About two years ago I cut my right pinky finger to the bone once, I had liquid stitches instead of regular stitches because it was left for too long (drunken night).

So, for me it's been years since anything serious has happened. Hopefully it will stay that way.

I was in a bicycle-car accident, two years ago . I didn't have any bones broken ( this is my luckiest experienced in my life ) but I did get a few stitches. Other than that nothing seriously except when I fell down from a Fofy ( not sure of the spelling ) slide ( and again miraculously no broken bones, not even a stitch).

I've broken my arm once and cracked my wrist, nothing too bad.

    But my friend... oh lawd.
He has a disease that causes his bones to be very brittle and so much as falling could cause a cracked/broken bone. He's broken a bone 25 times in his life, and now he's really short because he's broken his legs so many times. :/

    Beat that.

Edit: Also, in pre school, my other friend stepped on a rusty nail and it went straight in his foot... and it just sat there.

When I was 5 years old, I was in a car crash. Broke my right leg in 2 places.
When I was 6, I was watching a tractor go by outside my house (I liked tractors, don't ask) and it flinged a stone about 5 mm above my right eye. The scar is still there...

When I was 11 I was at a school sports day, and we were all running around the field warming up. Someone just had to trip me. I woke up later that day, having no memory of what happened.

About a year ago at karate, I was practicing my Mawashi-Geri's (Roundhouse kicks) and the guy I was practicing with stuck his elbo out to block, and I swung my ankle right into it. I had a limp for like a month >.<

Why the **** would you swim in that dam? It's the most disgusting dam I've ever been to. The only reason I ever would want to go there is to row. Even then it's manky. We saw **** floating in there. Literally. ****.

I was once in a karata tournament. I asked my sensei if he would let me fight, even though I was 2 years yonger than my female opponent. Needless to say, I got the **** kicked out of me. I was 9. It hurt.

Ive never broken anything but the worst thing happened in holiday last year december where there was this palm tree which was about 7 metres high I think and about a 50 cm thick and there was a branch hanging off it so I decided to run and jump and grab the branch...... now instead of the branch snapping the entire ****ing tree snapped at the base and fell on my legs it took it took forever to get the tree off of me and it had caused the blood vessels in my muscles in my legs to burst causing extreme musculer bruising in my leg and i couldnt even move my legs for 3 days but it was nothing serious it didnt even warrant a cast just needed time for the muscles swelling and bruising to go down.

Cracked my head open on multiple occasions including a gate being slammed straight into my face. Broke my nose, my jaw and cracked my head open in the space of 2 seconds.

Broke many fingers due to cricket.

Was messing around with my pocket knife just opening and closing it when I clamped it down onto my pinky. Can still remember the feeling of metal crashing into bone.

Got tackled off my trampoline straight into a tree. No serious injuries but it hurt like hell.

Was swimming at the beach in Durban. A jelly fish pretty much enveloped my chest. Never in my entire life have I felt such pain and fear.

Broke my foot while playing hockey bare-foot. Stupidest injury I've had.

    And the cherry on top:

At my old house we had a treehouse. It wasn't covered, merely a big board supported by wooden poles with wooden barriers surrounding it. Used to hammer nails into these barriers to hang random things onto. One of these nails happened to be double sided and when my friend pushed me, the nail went straight through my cheek. I reactively pulled away ripping a big hole into my cheek. The toll was a few stitches and the inability to open and close my mouth properly for a while. The scar took many years to fade away.

    >_< Blocking with an elbow is really not advisable and how did he hit your ankle?
Mawashi geris are meant to be hit with the ball of the foot... unless he was blocking upwards.. I am confused :/

No offence, but that was about the funniest thing I've read in this entire thread! XD

Had 2 accidents in one weekend. 1) My sisters drove my parent's car into another car(in front of the license department) and 2) the next day we wrote off a Corsa bakkie. My knee hit the wind screen, had lots of glass in my knee.

When I was in Matric I worked in the media centre (yes, geeks get hurt too). There were these shelf-ish trollies we used to push books around, only one day we pushed each other around. The trolly tipped and I landed flat on my butt but used my hands to 'bumper' the fall. At first there was nothing wrong, but later that day my wrists started swelling. That afternoon I couldn't hold anything in my hand, not even a frickin fork. My mom had to feed me. Went for X-rays but nothing was broken or fractured, swelling went off in a day or two. My friends still don't believe I couldn't hold anything in my hand from "such a small fall" :)

Elbow blocks are amazing. They're the reason you should never roundhouse high: Someone that knows what they're doing and isn't indoctrinated into thinking they shouldn't "block" with the elbow is going to calmly let you break your foot on them. It's really more of a strike to a weak area that someone's practically handing to you.

Ye.. We are trained to block punches with our elbows. Although that's not karate. It hurts like **** man!
