And then, I like to open old threads. New blood has been spilled, new people has been hurt, new stories to tell.

I also got bit by a friggin big catfish I caught in the Vaal river in December 2009. Infection FTL.

Oh, and I actually managed to stick my fingers together with melted plastic shopping bags. I was a bit of a pyromaniac when I was younger, and I just loooooved how the plastic melted and burned away. Wasn't so much fun when it dripped between my fingers holding the match though...

I was also kicked in the shin by both a "dead" warthog and a still struggling duiker. Both of them got hooves sharp as CRAP, and they really can put a hole in your jeans and a cut on your shin with just one kick.

A tree once fell on my head as well, I was holding it steady above my head on the one end (was just the trunk, not too big) when my nose itched. I balanced the tree with one hand, nice and steady, and scratched my nose. The tree twisted a bit, rolled out of my hand and onto my head. There was no blood, but it hurt like hell.

And yes, pain do seem to find me. It's not like I try. But last year we went hunting on one of my friends' farm, and I had these nice fat firecrackers. Needless to say, soon after I popped a few we realized that they fit perfectly in an empty shotgun shell, and then it can be placed with the copper bottom facing forward in an aluminum pipe, and that it shoots the copper base from the pipe at great speeds when you ignite the firecracker before placing it in the pipe. So I tried it, the pipe exploded and a piece of the aluminum (still got it here somewhere) shot into my side, cutting through two t-shirts and a jersy to leave a nice, big, bleeding chunk I had to walk around with for the rest of the week.

    Unlucky vs. stupid... I dunno.

    Bumpity bump
Thought i would resorect this thread after what happened to me over the weekend .I was cutting the grass , i have a very old lawnmover with no catchment tray at the back , and i was walking backwards and wasnt looking so i bumped into a potplant behind me , stumbled and pulled the lawnmower on to left foot .
It destroyed the front my shoe , but i felt no pain , the foot went totally numb, anyway i carried on and finished the grass .After i had finished i noticed that my foot felt wet , took off the remainer of the shoe and my foot was covered in blood .The blade had taken the top half of my big toe and sliced it 3/4 of the way through. My sock was holding it on place . Went to the doc who had to pull out the nail and suck out the bone that the blade had shattered and sew my toe back on . The injections were the worse, he had to stick the needle under my toenail to make it dead.Ah well on less toenail to cut :D

Wow this could be a essay if i ha to go through it all.

YOungest one i can remember ,

I went full retard and climbed up the corner wall ( was aout 5 ) and at hte top i saw a lizard ( akkedis ) and gravity was not known to me yet . I removed both my hands to catch the lizard and came too with my mom screaming and blood rushing out over my face. Got a cut that took 7 stitches to fix

then St 9 rugby got a ( o shiz please remember the english word ) I think its a Groin tear ( lies breuk ) I went into a ruck str8 of my feet as the oponent gave way and with my 1 leg in the air still my team mate went into the same ruck only taking my leg with. So i got force split ( and guys,, YEs the groin was the only thing that tore ;) )

St 9 Rugby i got stepped on and got cut open to the bone on my head. Obviously i was fighting this oke giving him a klap or 2 when my whole team pulledm e off and i couldnt understand why they were all screaming at me. Took me a while to realise that the entire right hand side of my body was covered in blood. 9 staples later.

Little extra lol .. The one oke in our team thought he was spielberg and recorded every game. So while everything happened the crowd was screaming for us to moer them etc etc and then the huddle and some 1 asked what was going on. They pointed and said I think it is Rynier that got hurt. The camera man replied he doesnt see anything wrong and as if on que I turned to point at the oke that stepped on me and the whole right hand bloody side became visible to the spectators and that whole Sound of every one taking in breath was Quite audible haha.

matric craven week trials. Jumped to catch a ball ,I a converted prop to hooker to flanker to 117 KG inside centre. Nothing can hurt me now,,, Surely. , came down and landed on an uneven surface whislt getting tackled .. Tore almost every single ligament in my knee and 5 years on i still cant stand for long before it starts aching.

1st year varsity broke 2 ribs in a car crash , I would prolly have been alright but realised GF didnt have her safety on. I undid mine leaned over and pressed her into the chair and my right hand side cannoned into the steering wheel . Id take that pain any day knowing she came out fine ( she did btw only a big black imprint of my hand on her upper thigh )

and then my closing story the most painfull one and every single rugby player will know about it and most had expierienced it.

When you tackeld some 1 and your finger got caught in the jersey and dislocated. There is no pain that can come close to that. IT feels like a Burning spear has been forced into your joint haha

Worst injury had to be to my pride when I was still in school. I was late for class, as per usual, and decided to take the stairs at a rather rapid rate. The class was on the third floor and all was going swimmingly till the second set of stairs. I happened to misjudge one of the last steps and stumbled forward whilst my back leg was still moving to the next step. Face met left knee. It was a rather short meeting though.

The impact of my knee to my face caused me to fall backwards, down the whole flight of stairs. When I came to I was met with the beautiful eyes of a girl I had been trying to impress for years. I got awesome sympathy points but I could always see the disappointment in her eyes when we got to a set of stairs...

When I was about two I climbed on a coffee table and fell off, breaking my left arm. Since I couldn't be put in a cast, it was strapped to multiple splints and supposedly healed about three months later.

I broke my left arm in the same place climbing a wall to save a puppy from drowning on the other side (I fell going over the top of the wall). For about a week I couldn't move it and was in enough pain to get something close to Vicoden that House doses himself on. It twitches on its own now and sometimes I pick up things and can't get any further than halfway to my mouth. It gets sore where it broke when its cold and one of my nerves are pinched somewhere. Weirdest part is that my right arm hurts occasionally in the exact same place and sometimes twitches in the same way.

When I get pins and needles from sleeping on my arm as well, its much more pronounced and sometimes I can't flex my hand at all. Physiotherapy hasn't helped either and my doctor says its something I'll probably have for the rest of my life. Until I break it for the third time.

When I was about 6, I crushed my pinky finger in between two metal chairs and somehow managed to take the skin off half my finger.

When I was 7, a friend dropped a brick on my head from the wall behind me, I have a scar above my right eye.

When I was 14, I cut my right hand from the index finger to the ring finger while trying to unbend a PC side panel with a screwdriver, nothing 9 stitches couldn't fix, not one of my proudest moments.

Other than that, just a few broken toes and falls caused by my knee problem, my knees randomly dislocate to the side of my leg and its really painful, happens rather often and there's not much I can do about it.

My dad was not happy with me taking apart a pc.
We had a argument about what kind of people can and cannot take apart a PC.
He decided to see if a floppy drive can fly luckily my leg was in the way so floppy drive survived.
I broke a bone and bled harshly.

Like i said i never really knew my parents very well.

It's funny you say that because my friends say I'm a cross between House and Alan Shore from Boston Legal :p Haha, but yes, I do take advantage of the experience such damage affords me ;)

Surprised I hadn't put this here already, buuut...

Late last year, I was attending an event at CCHQ. I was crossing a road when I was hit full on by a car going about 90km/h+ (it had run a stop street, and kept on going after it hit me).

I was flung into the air, hit brick pavement about 20 metres from where I was hit (following the car's direction).

I stood up, and said "...ow".

Taken to hospital, turns out my only damage was some scrapes due to the landing. No broken bits, no head trauma, etc. Only suffered severe muscle pain for the next week or two.

My only tuxedo was ruined (pants ripped, boxers showing), but I did return later that evening, decimated clothing still on, and enjoyed what remained of the evening.

Have a permanent scar on my one ankle from a scrape that the doctors failed to see/attend as a reminder.

I'm actually of the mindset that the reason I didn't sustain any damage was because the car didn't stop. Had it stopped, all of its energy would have been transferred into me, thus breaking my bits.

You guys have best injuries? Are you mental? There's nothing good about an injury. I try to avoid them at all costs. :P

That's true. Had the car been decelerating, the weight of it would have been more pronounced and would have kept going right into you. Since it wasn't decreasing speed, the weight of the impact was lessened because it was just dividing you and the ground, the same way it does air. More or less.

Your body also probably turned superhuman for the few seconds that the accident happened. Adrenaline does strange things to the human body.

I say pity those crickets and insects that fly into your windshield. They must feel just like you :-P

Edit: Wait, you had a Nanosuit left on the maximum strength setting, didn't you?

The most notable I have had was about 6 years ago when I was getting off a trampoline set in concrete - my leg went in between the springs and my shin went down against the concrete it lifted the skin to the bone, about 24 stitches... later, lucky for me I did not feel a thing during the whole event, must have cut the pain out because of the shock.Des Moines MMA

My "Best" Injury; which, if i may add, Still makes me cringe every time i think about it, happened 8 years Ago- Me and my cousin would take out his bicycle and go ride it in random places in our neighborhood. It was my turn, and so i decided to go really fast down a hill. i went through a patch of building sand( not sure what it's real name is) and as i noticed that i was going a bit too fast( i was going at about 35-40 K/ph), I decided to pull on the breaks, and to my surprise, they seemed to have jammed up. Me, being the "smart" person i am, decided to put my feet down on the tar ever so gently so that i can slow down a bit, but alas, my feet hit some rocks, causing the bike to lose balance, and clip my 1 foot, and flip from under neath me. when i finally stopped rolling on the tar, i took a look at my arm, which was bleeding, and there was little-to-no skin on my elbow. I Tried to walk, but could not stand on my right leg- when i lifted my sock, i noticed a massive gaping hole by my ankle- the peddle had gone into my foot and torn a chunk of meat out of my leg(about 3 cm radius)- I was rushed to the hospital, where they stitched the hole closed(they gave me 23 stitches, and a new fear of needles). I then went to the X-ray department, and discovered that i had broken my foot at the ankle, as well as shifted my knee-cap(sounds weird, I know)- all in all, this accident left me with a huge fear of both needles, and bicycles, but i have managed to conquer the two-wheeled horror, by getting myself a bicycle this year, and riding a bike for the first time in 8 years.

Got hit in the head with a swing by my sister, had 2 stitches. Still have the mark on my head today, was 2 years old. Guess that's why I'm not always completely there... Hahahahahaha

Fell out a tree once, my hand got stuck on a half broken branch. All I remember was hanging by the skin of my hand and then I woke up home. My cousin carried me... 4 stitches for that.

I've had so many injuries, mostly due to skateboarding. These days I try my best to keep myself from harms way. But that's not always easy when you got a couple of brooskies in you.
