Maybe it's due to the fact that Blender is a piece of crap.

Blender is brilliant, I love it. (However, it took some time to learn).

Pietersielie, Mine also says that, however you can saftely ignore it unless you plan to program in Python.

GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD, AMIRITE.

Check out the indie gaming scene. Most of that stuff's free. Most of it's **** too. Some of it isn't. Being free doesn't automatically exclude it from the same user criticisms levelled on premium applications.

I have made some good and bad things in blender. If you are starting this field of work, blenders great. However if you want to go into more depth I'd recommend purchasing a good program.

But it certainly gives it a little more leeway surely?

Would you be happy eating **** food, just because it was free? Or would you complain that it was ****?

Eating **** food can kill you. Using **** software isn't nearly as life-threatening. Please, lets compare apples with apples here.

I'm sure there's similar software for Apple PCs out there.

That's an irrelevant and stupid comment.

    **** food is **** food. **** software is **** software. **** is ****.

He didn't say it was crap, he just said that it wasn't very user friendly.

Furthermore: IF blender is such rubbish, then how did these guys get it right?

Oh, that's right. If you're good, you can use pretty much any tool to make something of high quality. That doesn't stop there from better tools. :P

Becuase people can't afford better software, it can be the only option. Would you rather starve or eat **** food?

I don't think it does, it's just a reason people might use it. Or eat bad food. Or whatever the original point was...

Correct. However, this thread has made no attempt at criticism, just plain ol' derision. That is not helping anyone make a better product.
And of course it's needless to say when passing judgement that you shift expectations to judge it in its own context. You wouldn't judge, say, one of the Game.Dev comp entries by the same rules as a AAA blockbuster, would you?

    Would you?
