Will the real Idol please stand up?

29 September 2009, Johannesburg---Idols finalists Graeme Watkins and Munro du Toit will once again take centre stage for the ultimate sing-off contest. Watkins and du Toit, who both came third in the last two respective seasons of South African Idols, will battle it out, each singing a song from Xbox 360?s Lips at rAge Expo, the country?s premier computer, gaming and technology event.
Lips, the only music video game that comes with two wireless motion-sensitive microphones, features great songs from a wide range of musical genres, backed by original music videos, lyrics and scoring. One can plug in an MP3 player and sing along to your own music collection while a virtual music video accompanies your performance.

Both Watkins and du Toit became hot property after their stellar exit from Idols. Du Toit is currently promoting his solo debut album, One Way Ticket. Produced by Brian O?Shea (best known for production work with Seether, Arno Carstens & Sugardrive), One Way Ticket contains a majority of du Toit?s own compositions.

Watkins is currently performing around the country and is expected to release his debut album next year. He is also busy rehearsing for an upcoming musical show planned for February 2010 at the Johannesburg Theatre. Watkins is best remembered by the public after rendering his version of Kurt Darren?s Loslappie during the last round of the competition, making him the first South African Idol to go with Afrikaans song.

Catch all the action on Sunday, the 4th of October at rAge Expo between 11h00-13h00. Who knows, you may even stand a chance to battle against one of the Idols finalists.
There can?t be two winners. At least with Xbox 360?s Lips, that is.

We still have RSA idols? Who knew? Hope they're better than those two "professional" singers they had on The Verge last week.

I must admit, I think the whole "cool" factor of having Idols at rage will be lost on most of the people there. We're not really their target audience, I don't think.
