Coincidence, or cause and effect. ;D

Forgot to thank those guys for providing those Play Energy drinks (those kept me going strong). ^_^ Hope they'll offer something similar, if not the same thing, again next year - it's these lil things that make the exp all that more... well, more. ;)

I have a suggestion of some kind. I don't know how many of you know him, but there's this guy called Michael Gluck, aka Piano Squall, who plays Video Game and Anime music that he arranged for the piano on the...piano. He does events, and I asked him personally on his site if he did shows in other countries in the US, and he mentioned that it's a definite possibility.

I just thought it'd be cool to have him at next year's rage. =)

    That's my three cents.

How about some insane gaming specials, i still need to find a shop that can sell the latest gaming title for under R200. Normally at expos of that size it is good reason to drop prices to insane lows. Get a celebrity down to show us his lates offering, would love to have the signature of Will Wright or Sid Meier on my forehead for 'bragging rights'. You have huge Lans with all kinds of games, how about getting the okes from SARLS to set up their simulation rig and compete for big prizes on hot titles like rFactor, Live for speed and GTR2. I also would like to see some cool gadgets as well, get the guys from Popular Mechanics to show us some of the hottest gadgets and inventions on the market.

You never will. That's just insane. Who in their right mind, is going to sell their stock at over half a loss?

Everyone sells at over half of cost. I think you meant at less than half of cost

That's why i said insane so make this a challenge. Dare any game supplier to sell at that prices and i will buy each and every game on their shelf(the one's i don't have yet') =)

I dare any game supplier to sell at those prices - and then go home and explain to their wives why they actually *lost* money at work today.

Seriously, you're not being reasonable. :P

Ok you win , it's not reasonable at all but we are allowed to dream and drool.

    I have 2 suggestions/questions.

Would it be possible to have xbox 360 lan comps?

and maybe, if there are counterstrike comps showing on the big screen, would it be possible to follow 1 player from each opposing team, seeing as there are 2 screens.

Nimue, you're asking the wrong people about that. 360 LAN comps are user-organized, and as for the Counter-Strike thing you need to talk to Arena 77.

rAge is the *event* organizer - we don't micromanage each stand or each situation.

Cause compared to the past, 4 years, that is the last thing that i would call an expo. I loved the lan, but i recon the majority felt not THAT much efort was actually put into the expo.

I'm sorry to hear that, but unfortunately, I do believe you to be wrong - but it seems you've made up your mind.

Perhaps rAge simply isn't for you anymore.

This year, the expo had more exhibitors and used more floorspace than any of the years before it - that's a fact. As for the actual exhibitors themselves, we have no control over them or what they decide to do with the floorspace they have paid for.

hey look, thats just my thoughts for rage '08.......my opinion isn't wrong in anyway. Look im sure lots of people thought it was awsome but from all the people i had spoken to (including the guys who were sitting around me at the lan) says the standard of the expo this year was much to be desired.

Again, I'm sorry to hear that, but that is your personal opinion and one that simply doesn't reflect our attendance figures and the overall success of the expo this year.

As I said before: perhaps rAge simply isn't the type of expo that appeals to your specific sensibilities anymore.

Gotta disagree there. Having the "*mumble* *mumble* Wiiiiii!!!!1!1!!" and Halo 3 definitely screams effort. And also, seeing all the peeps standing around the Wii all O_o and ^_^ was awesome to see - clearly they were amazed, made me smile.

Every year, we have several distinct groups of people.

Group A says the expo was worse than last year.
Group B says the expo was better than last year.
Group C says the expo was the same as last year.

The percentages on these groups varies from year to year, however Group B remains the largest group by far, without fail, since 2004 (since rAge only started in 2003). So we must be doing enough right. :)
