So true. I almost missed the DotA tourney too if it wasn't for my bro picking up the info. Also, it was a mission finding TheLair guys, heck we thought they were a stand so went to the expo looking around til one of the teamies pointed out a group of peeps huddled around in the LaN area. >< I'll talk to Fanaticit at Mayhem next week and bring this issue to his attention. ^_^

Massacre you should keep in mind that the idea behind the LAN was not serious competitions with large purses up for grabs. If this was your requirement you should be looking at A77, AGASA and the like. The DOTA comp and many others had a lot of activity on these forums before the event. Since you are posting here now, I have to assume that you could have visited these forums beforehand and therefore should have known about the comps. In addition to this the DOTA comp details were on the VC site as well at rAge.
Competitions that are run are done so by people from the community that are willing to put in a little effort (maybe make that a lot) to make sure that they enjoy fully what they love. Thus you are more than welcome to follow, or maybe lead the way next year to ensure that it is more acceptable.
I is not our (VC’s) intention to turn rAge into ESWC, WCG or equivalent. Thus we will stay with the community-based approach since if gives a lot of people the opportunity to organise a comp without the need to worry about the infrastructure and logistics. This is what we try and promote so that young talent may get exposure. Age gets to all of us, and somebody will need to step up.

Understood hey, I'm not blaming you or Nag or anyone, just saying thats one of the things that happend that dulled rAge for me. Maybe thats an idea, for the NAG/VC people to orangise(well) decent informalish tourneys for rAge next year. Overall a great event tho!
