    I decided that I was being killed too easily. And our team was horrible. So I quit and joined an empty server. I decided to practice my sticky-bomb-jumping. Some dude joined. And he was cool with me doing my own thing. I continued (on Dustbowl, and unexpectedly got the Impenetrable Defense achievement. I felt bad about it. Anyway, more came and spoiled our fun. Then we played for real. Map changed. People like wir, fen1x, Nephilem joined. Me as Medic died. Normal cycle. And in the end my pc froze after entering water.

    Great fun.

    Conclusion: I, as King of Freaks, ban wir from using the demoman (for this weekend). So that normal people, without fast reaction times, can actually get a kill in the round.

    Further reaching flames for Pyro??

    Great Gold Rush game today. Thanks Kraken for granting me the Kritzkrieg. Good fun.

    So I quit and joined an empty server. I decided to practice my sticky-bomb-jumping
    I often do this, though it's hardly successful. When one or two people join it often turns into a king of the point kind of game. Some of my best moments.

    Hey everybody who was playing tonight - awesome games, thanks for all the fun! Gold Rush was awesome.

    The ****ing upped crit rate is annoying. I mean seriously from what I've experienced, a heavy WILL have 15 crit bullets every like 40 bullets. Or, you will NEVER survive 2 melee hits. One WILL be a crit.

    For example; I'll be planting stickies from around a corner as demoman, dodging a heavy's bullets, getting minimal damage(10-20), when he suddenly crits and I'm instantly dead. This happens each time I 'm combatting a heavy from around a corner, planting stickies on the cart, on a point or just in general.

    Sure, I'm okay for the occasional crit, makes it random, but a 50% chance* to bloody 10x damage is bull.

    *Hyperbole, I'm ****ING ****ED.

    Uh oh,sounds like some crit rage here.
    Yet I agree.Heavy's crit quite frequently for
    a class so dangerous already.
    And Melee crits seem to have a 80% chance
    which can be annoying if you are doing so well
    and a random noob-a-zoid smacks you with
    a shovel coated in instant death.Can be quite disheartening.

    That reminds me. The demo, or me as demo, get very few crit stickies. And it seems the enemy just get shot up in the air or to the side even if I did have 2-3 stickies under him/her/it. Hard to kill. And then wir does amazing magic with that gun.

    Can you activate the bomb if it's in the air or touching an enemy?

    I get quite ****ed off myself sometimes in certain situations, but remember you too crit and crit just as often as the enemy if you realise it or not. Im thankfull for the clan servers having crits disabled, its made me a better demoman, it made me realise how much I relied on crits and forced me to change my playstyle in order to still get the kills without crits.

    Oh and FreakKing, yes you can activate your stickies mid air, a grenade will only explode on impact with an enemy or after it expires.

    Not if you're playing a non-offensive class, like the engi - who spends his time building, running for metal, and tanking (no time to look for spies these days >_>). So, seeing the lack of crit giving, it gets quite infuriating receiving them (especially from a spy's pistol).

    Actually, now that I think of it, my engi rarely crits when he's shooting anyway :/
    Slapping spies with my wrench is almost always futile, and the shotgun - even when it does crit, doesn't seem to do that much damage... (which is probably why I keep seeing engi's kamikaze into the front lines with their pistols...)

    Ultimately... I'm also not that pleased with the sudden increase in the crits :I

    I don't know if crits have become more common, but they are connected to how well you're doing. The more damage you've dealt, the more crits you'll get in return.

    I had this one player remarking that I'm the "crit king" or something along the lines (admittedly, I managed to kill him and his medic with a lucky crit rocket), so I responded with "everybody is critting more since the latest update patch". Then a medic on our side said "not me". Thing was he was running around with the Blutsaugher.
    Anyways, I am glad I'm not the only one that noticed the increased crits. I can not remember seeing anything official in the update news or something in the steam forums. Server side setting maybe?

    Well, to be specific, the more damage you do in a 20 second time period, the higher your chances of getting crits. Do no damage in 20 seconds, your chances fall back down to minimal.

    But I really do think they have become more common, albeit a silent change from the devs or simply a result of new code, but as SOON as the medi-rush update appeared suddenly crits everywhere. My silent realizations was echoed by many in the game or in the forums by other more audible though bewildered players.

    Suddenly, being melee's turned into a one hit KO move, and in some situations it becomes a "first one to get melee out wins" scenario.

    /whiny rant :P

    I think the pyro movement speed needs to be increased as medics can easily kill pyros from a fair distance courtesy of the medic gun upgrade.

    I'd sacrifice getting crits at all from my side, simply to have the crit rate of other people reduced, or even melee crits removed.

    *edit*
    I'd take an unlockable, that sacrfices all my crits, but makes enemy crits do less damage.

    Yeah, I agree. I actually feel bad when I kill someone with a lucky crit (well, a little).
    Perhaps if they make crits a bit less random one can counter and utilize it a bit better, for instance, when the enemy's gun starts glowing, you know to get out of the way, 'cause he's a crittin'.

    Actually, thats the thing. Before the crit rate was pumped, they WERE lucky. It was actually pretty awesome getting them, and coming out of an impossible situation because of them.

    At the rate people are critin' now, one can't really call them lucky anymore. They are quite regular :/
