Thread: Man beats WoW.

    Default Man beats WoW.

December 3, 2009 - What was once thought to be impossible has become reality.

A Taiwanese player has become the first person in the world to complete all 986 achievements found in World of Warcraft, reports CVG.

"Little Gray" on the Wrathbringer server managed to killed 390,895 creatures and completed 5,906 quests in total, according to the WoW Armory website. As you would expect, however, there is one slight problem that should be noted.

The player has yet to earn the holiday achievement 'BB King' but due to a bug with an old PvP achievement, he managed to earn two points, giving him 986/986.

It's unclear as of now if one man completed this feat or if it were many. It's possible this account was shared amongst a group of skilled guild members.

But still, it's hard to imagine playing a MMO game and finding yourself with nothing to do.
    Link for justice.

Read about this on fudzilla yesterday. Considering that there are millions of WoW players, this is one sad/hax dude.

So he never actually reached it legitimately.

Still friggin' awesome, though. I bow down to the supernerd.

Huh? This is the first guy who has completed WoW! It most certainly is sad/hax. Especially when you consider that there are thousands of serious WoW addiction sufferers; I guess that's not important though.

Yes, Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Terzing also used hax. In fact, every human achievement is the result of hax, especially were many have first tried and failed. That is the story of the human race.

Funny that he is cited as 'completing the game' when for 3 years there were no achievements at all.

Impressive achievement though and insulting anyone about anything that took them time and dedication to achieve is absolutely pathetic and ignorant. He may gain more joy and pride from doing this than most people gain from their real life promotions etc. Categorizing him as a nerd and an addict is like labeling Tiger Woods as an obsessive fool.

Oh and I guess JRR Tolkein was an addicted nerd too because he spent years writing about fantasy.

due to a glitch with an old PvP achievement he earned 2 points to get the 986/986
Well, now he just needs to earn one more achievement to make it 987/986, thereby rolling over the counter, breaking the system of control and destroying the Matrix. I wonder how long he's been playing for. If he/she has been there from the start then that's 7 years of game experience.

I'm pretty sure it's 5 years now, James. Since this month is WoW's 5th year anniversary.

Wow, just wow. I'll note down that MMO addiction is a sensitive subject on here. But seriously, human achievement and dedication? Lol. You can come up with something better than that.

Nah, the only thing that gets my goat is when a Peanut from the Peanut Gallery decides to mock and judge someone for having done something that could, in all respects, be considered an Achivement.

Why so cynical, Garson? Why not just let the guy have his fun, and get his acclaim, even though it's really farcical acclaim, agreed - but all acclaim is. After all, achievement is a subjective, human attribution.

Basically I guess what I'm saying is, why you gotta be such a jackass all the time?

For the love of Pete, Garson, you're not ALLOWED to feel sad! Didn't you get the memo?

What if that WoW player finds this thread and feels bad about what you wrote?

Oh, definitely! They certainly won't be too busy playing WoW anymore to look us up.
