no external hdds are allowed. Ones that require power that is. If you got the ones that use usb power you are ok.

I've got to agree that this years rage is going to be awesome. I've been to almost every rage, but have never gone to the Lan. This year I've got everything ready and I'm definitly not missing the Lan. Just a quick quistion: How does the whole check in work on the friday, I also remove my HDD, VGA and CPU cooler for transport purpouses, the pc is probably checked for power usage and such, so I guess I'll have to place those components back before the check?

    Sorry for any spelling/grammar mistackes
Sorry if this sounds Noobish, I'm more of an online player.

They plug your box in and switch it on for literally a second or two to check your power output. So yes, you will need to replace all your components to get an accurate power usage check.

    Hi!

What games can we expect to play? Would AvP be on that list anywhere, and (dare I say) Doom 3? What about online games, like Guild Wars?

@ Feyra Aranor - I doubt if Doom3 will feature, um I think it's safe to say it will not. As for online games, I suppose it depends on the availability of an internet connection at the LAN. We will have to wait until later to get an idea on what servers will be available i guess.

@ Supa Soka DJ - Yes you can bring a laptop. There were quite a few guys last year with laptops, so it's ok.

Thanks its just that my laptop is not so good (it recently blew up its own motherboard, has no bluetooth anymore and the fingerswiper security thing doesn't work, oh and it tends to shut down if it rejects a game, the dvd drive only works if the pc is restarted and it can't sustain an internet connection for more than five minutes) wow, okay i think i need a new computer after seeing all this on paper (or the internet, you get the point). Does anyone know of any custom desktop stores in durban so i can get a new pc made for me?!?

    Hi Guys

This year will be my first year going to rage and i am really excited.

Will tickets be sellng at compu-ticket or are they only sold at the door as first comes first serve?

How long are the q's when you waiting to enter rage, Do gamers start arriving at 5am in the morning to get first in q?

I read on one of these posts that there were different charges as R80 and then R350 for the nag lan, Am i right in saying the R80 charge is only for the expo and the R350 is for the lan and expo?

Anyway I am extreamly excited about rage:)

My sister went to rAge last year and she said it was great.

Only thing she said dissapointed her, was the lack of the usual anime scene and number of magazines available. But I guess the reccecion hit us all right?

Any idea of the scale of the anime this time around?

Tickets for the NAG LAN go on sale exclusively at Computicket on 1 August (no tickets are sold at the door). Tickets are normally sold out within the first two weeks, so we suggest you get yours early. The ticket price will be R350 and will give you access to the LAN and the expo all weekend.
The LAN officially opens at 10h00 on Friday morning and people start queing from around 7am. The check-in process goes fairly quickly so you shouldnt have to wait too long to get in.

Its a bit too early for us to know what the level of participation will be from the anime community, as we havent had any firm committments on that side. But as soon as we have news we'll let you know.
