Thread: [NAG Magazine] April 2010 Issue

Default [NAG Magazine] April 2010 Issue

We're old! 12 years-old, in fact. It's our birthday issue, but don't send through those gifts just yet; we're going to do that for you instead. Everything is better: 16 additional pages of pure awesome, a jump to the A4 format which means bigger screenshots and other additional awesome, a very special cover (you'll have to see it to really get what I mean). Eight previews, nine reviews and some amazing features, including our hands-on impressions of the StarCraft II beta, Blur and our God of War III review, fill out the gaming section. On the hardware side of things, we peer into the BlackBerry App World, the Athlon X3 425, the Eurocom W870CU Cheetah gaming notebook and, of course, a massive feature on the NVIDIA GF100. There are tons of changes from the tiny to the huge; don't miss out!

The April issue will be on shelf on the 25th of March.

\o/ Happy Birthday. I got mine yesterday (two months in a row it's early - I'm seriously impressed). Overall: Awesome. Love the way you guys did the cover/poster thingy.

However, has to be said, page 80 made my facepalm.

Awesome looking edition. I think it may be time to finally subscribe.

I take it those nvidia drivers are not for Windows 7...?

On thing: I've entered a number of the sms comps you guys have each month, but we never seem to see who wins. I know they're not NAG sponsored comps, but would like to know that I'm not spending R5 every month on a fake comp.

(PS as a mod, can I still participate in competitions?)

EDIT: wtf is Babe of the moment?

Got my copy today. Overall I like the new larger mag, but it feels like you guys have skimped on the actual print quality. EDIT: Nevermind, it was just my 'magination. I like the new style of the mag, very cool and rather chic.

I do like the special edition cover thing, very cool!

There's just one thing that's really starting to irk me, and that's Neo. I know he knows a lot about hardware, his experience and knowledge is almost unmatched, BUT his nVidiotalitis (yep, you read it here first) is getting a bit too much for me. It's the first column of his I've read in a few months because he ****ed me off before too, and it's just more of the same bull****.

"Yes, ATi has better performance per rand, yes they hold the fastest-gfx-in-the world crown, yes they were the first to implement DX11 by 4 or 5 months, yes they got their cards and new manufacturing process sorted out ages before the competition, but actually it all means nothing, 'cause they don't have PhysX and CUDA and all those other really awesome and super powerful technologies that nobody actually uses besides two dudes in Sweden trying to decipher the odds of a meteor hitting the earth and starting a galaxy wide game of ****ing pinball. Seriously, since when have graphics cards been about gaming performance? Pfffft!"

Why did I just see your Avatar going Super Sayan when I read that? Wow, weird mental image of the day.

**** thing is, once someone says you were being a fanboy, there's nothing you can do to counter it... Darn you, Azi, Darn you to blasted hell!!!!!

Happy bday, you guys rock, still remember the first issue, cry :-P Will get the mag soon. You guys are realy good at what you do, Michael, nice work ;) Its funny, looking back I remember some of the reviews, ed notes, letters, previews and even ads :P reading the ATI/Nvidia post rememinded me of the first TNT add in nag, oooh, remember the voodoo ads :P lol, okay, thats wierd... I know :P

lol, play unreal 3s Physix enabled maps (the one with the tornado) and tell me it doesnt rock, i love it. Batman also implemented Physix really well, added to the atmosphere.

AMD/ATI is a great company and the 4X series cards really kicked ass and by looking at the benchmarks the 5x series also kicks ass. Personally though, Ill go with whatever is the fastest firstly and secondly I like where PhysX is taking games, i just wish PhysX wasnt just an nvidia thing... its limiting the implementation of it...

Well I suppose congratulations are in order, happy birthday. Got my copy a couple days ago. Awesome cover btw!! Its really good IMO.

After that drought of reviews and previews, there really are a ****load of them in this issue. And OMG, you reviewed my phone. I've been waiting for it for a while now, so I'm really loving this issue.

How did Dane manage to review GOW3, AvP, Bioshock 2 and Dante's Inferno all in one issue?
