Nope. Galaxy Tab's are expensive (a bit overpriced, TBH). The new Asus EEE Pad Transformer Prime is surprisingly well-priced, and has the new Tegra 3 quad-core processor in there. That thing's a beast.

After three weeks of waiting for MTN to give me the HTC Desire S they told me that they won't be stocking it again... ever.
So I decided that I should rather just go for the SGS2 for R299 per month. For that amount you get the phone and R200 airtime, 25 SMSes and a lousy 10mb each month. Hopefully I can get some sort of compensation for waiting this long and them not being able to deliver on what they advertised. I'll go there later this afternoon to discuss it and collect my new phone \:D/

Does anyone have any idea when MTN and Vodacom are rolling out the ICS updates for the SGS2? As far as I know it was released internationally on the 15th of March.

From what I've read, it should be here end of April.

Okay so I've got a OTG usb host for my Galaxy S2 and my Adroid is fully updated to Version 2.3.4 but when I plug it in I get no reaction. Any help please?

Ditto on the HDMI cable I got. Is it necessary to root the phone to enable these features?

okay, so with regards to the USB host, all I had to do was make sure I plug the flash drive into the cable first before plugging it into the phone.

And apparently you have to have a USB cable plugged into the TV and HDMI cable at the same time. I'll try that tonight and see if it works.

Yesterday I finally got my SGS2. So far I have downloaded a ton of apps and other goodies for it, but I haven't tried any launchers.
So here is my request: Have you guys come across any cool launchers that are worth checking out? Elaborate a little bit on the pros and cons if you don't mind.
    Thanks!

7launcher is pretty good, it looks exactly like windows phone 7.
    GoLauncher is also decent.

Samsung has typically always reserved March 22nd for new product unveils so it could be possible. That picture looks like a curved OLED screen but I'm still skeptical about the design.

I read some of the reviews on 7 Launcher and looked at the app screenshots. It looked really basic. Also, it's not exactly ideal to make your Android look like a Windows phone. Next you'll be telling me about that awesome iPhone launcher you found ;P

I downloaded Go Launcher and a couple of themes for it. It felt like there were so many different things that you need to download for it to actually look like something and for the themes to be coherent throughout the menus and so on. There were "demo" widgets on literally every home screen asking you to download another part of the theme. In the end I just uninstalled it as I didn't want to go through all that crap of finding and tweaking every little thing and downloading all the different parts. Why can't you just get a complete theme in one download with matching widgets, contact screens, messaging apps and all that.

Yes, I realise it's a bit silly to rant over this when I have an Android phone, but I already did all those things for the stock UI. I don't want to do it again for every theme that I want to check out. Complete package, that is all I'm asking for. If I don't like a part of the theme I will look for an alternative app/widget/wallpaper/etc.

Thanks for the suggestions though :)

Try SPB Shell 3D. It might be a little too fancy for some people, but it sure looks pretty.

And, yes, that's R116. Pricey for sure, but from what I've seen, it's worth it.

    Thanks Geo.
I really want to check it out, but I don't have a way of paying for apps at the moment. I used my dads credit card for SlideIt Keyboard when I visited them in December. Really cool keyboard with Afrikaans dictionary. Check out the trial, it's usable for two weeks if my memory serves me right and around R45 to buy.

I came across this forum post that lists (probably) all the available launchers. Rocket Launcher looks quite cool. I'll try out a few mentioned in the comments and post here if I find anything useful.

So far, ssLauncher is quite different to other launchers. You can make your home-screens look like magazine covers with text/image/icon links to different apps/functions/"pages". Quite interesting but I doubt I'll use this one though.

Installing the Dark Knight Rom on my I9000 now, was quite happy with Onecosmics RC 4.1 but I want those toggles in the notification bar :)
Lets see if this is good enough to use everyday?

I'm asking that users please take a moment to sign this petition.
We want sony to release all the source for the x10.
It has severely hindered our ability to make stable roms and make improvements to the device.
I apologize if this is not allowed on the forum.
