    Some Android Jelly Bean information.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is now finally here! We’ve been waiting for the newest Android version, hearing all sorts of rumors all along, and there’s a lot to see in terms of new features, but the biggest improvement we’re extremely happy to see is that Google is finally seriously tackling the small but noticeable lag that’s often noticeable in the platform.

Part of it is due to the full multitasking Android comes with, and in ICS Google has really minimized it. With its Project Butter, though, the goal is to go one step further and idealistically have lag-free performance from our devices.

That’s what we’re most excited about, but there’s plenty more in terms of improvements and new features. Check out the images below walking you through all the new stuff in Jelly Bean
The official Jelly Bean ROM was also leaked a few days back, so some of you Galaxy Nexus users can try it out.

Thanks man. I'm having a hard time finding the UK Vodafone ROM, do you think the German Vodafone ROM will work as well?

It should work just as well, since Vodafone's network across Europe should be mostly the same. If you still struggle, get your help here.

Cool beans! I know that most people used the German version and it also worked for them. Your contacts might be screwy because they start with 0 and not +27 but on the whole it should be fine.

Maybe you should trawl the classifieds on carbonite.co.za or MyBroadband or Gumtree if you're keen on finding one second hand. Usually people take good care of expensive, niche stuff like that.

Do any of you know of a retailer in South Africa that stocks the Nexus 7? I would love one, seeing as they cost $199, which is insane for the specs. Also then I will buy the NAG digitally and read it on my Nexus 7 :D I've search expansys but no luck so far? Maybe I overlooked it? Also $199 should be about R1500 right?

$199 with imports, taxes and everything should be around R2,000 at least, unfortunately. With the R/$ exchange rate currently at close to R8/$1, currency alone would be R1,600... Someplace like TAKEALOT or Amazon's import feature would be best.

Where in the android interface on the motorola defy can you find where it says where the pics taken with the cellphones camera is stored? My dad has not updated his phone from v2.1(eclair) to v2.2(froyo) and I would like to know that so when he does eventually updates his phone we where they are but still the few time I have borrowed his phone to explore it I haven't found a way of moving the pics from the phone to the sd card if they are stored on the phone itself,etc...

The Motorola Defy doesn't come with a file manager installed, right? Get OI File Manager from the market and find a folder called "Camera" inside DCIM.

I recently got hold of a LG Optimus Pro C660 and I'll have a review up of the phone in about two weeks. For budget Android users, its a pretty sweet deal.

    Sorry Buddy.
Mind looking if you can find some info on the chipset?
    That key pad looks... flimsy.

The chipset is a Qualcomm MSM7227T running at 800Mhz (Adreno 200 GPU). The keypad is actually pretty good, although I'll extend on that in my review later on.

It comes with a file manager(can't remember the name) but I can't seem to find options for stuff like move file\s to the sd card and vice versa,etc...

[edit]Does that mean the pics, etc are stored on the sd card\micro sd card by default?
