Does anyone know of a place where I can buy those straps to put around my case and carry it on my back and how much will it cost? I would prefer an Internet shop and how much will it cost.

We are working on an internet connection. The speed, bandwidth and latency of the connection is not yet confirmed and as such we cannot guarantee the availability and performance of the internet connection. This year will be seen as a trial run for future events. This means that if we succeed in securing the connection, it may not perform as hoped and connections may not always be on. Keep in mind though that we do not play to loose and will do our very best to ensure that it works at acceptable levels. We might be very stingy on what can and cannot be done if we secure the connection.

This would be fantastic if you guys could pull it off. Especially since the release of Starcraft II and the Battle.net requirements for multiplayer. I think it would be best to limit the internet feature to allow only specific servers (such as bnet and the MW2 servers) so as not to have it throttled by surfing or whatever else. Of course I'm N00b when it comes to internet matters, so i don't really know how anything like that would work.

I have been going for the last 5 years now, and every year there are improvements being made and suggested in order for it to just get better and better. Hats off to the organizers.

Who's hosting comps at rage, from what i know DGL couldn't arrange seating for rage so they wont be there, is VC hosting any comps?

Mostly its the lanners themselves that arrange comps. Like Nictron makes arangements for the strategy comps.

I know .. been competing the last 2 years in Nictron's informal strategy comps.
But I mean ... If there is a confirmed internet connnection to host and join games .. like starcraft 2 or supcom2 .. then he might put that up as an option.

If you have a normal splitter cable, you can go to any hardware store and buy a Dedicated Plug (Red Plug) and ask your dad or anyone who knows what he is doing to cut off the old plug from the splitter cable and connect the new Red Plug. Just make shore the person knows what he is doing or ells you will get a free firework show... xD

This will cost you about R30
If you are paying more than R39.99 it is a scam...

Although a possibility, we do not normally post the seating arrangements. Will consider whether we will do so this year. No promises however.

We will setup an appy share and a major share. Appy would most likely be couple of gig and major leecher would be 60G or similar. Have not fixed anything yet, but those are the general guidelines.

We do not have the details resolved so it would be a safe assumption that gaming will have preference. When details are resolved, I will post something.

If its intact and reasonable then we should accept it. Reasonable is however a personal opinion.

Although we have not officially banned it, its pretty sure you will not receive any welcome when you try a vuvuzela. Its a LAN and noisy is expected, vuvuzelas are not welcome though.

If you have somebody fit it and you use it at home then changes are you should not have any issues.

I Personally Think The Internet Connection Is a Terrible Idea. But If It's Going to Be Then i Suggest The Minimalist Setup Possible. Grant Enough Bandwidth Fro Activation Of Purchased Games and Perhaps Steam But The Last Thing I'm Going to Do Is Pay R300 to go to a LAN if Everyone plays Online. I Take SC2 very Seriously But I'm Not Playing It at R@ge, Instead I Will Play LAN-able Games.

Get to the Dome.
Flash ticket at security guard.
Park car. (sorry couldn't resist)
Gather your PC and peripherals together.
Look for trolley boy (not the official title).
Get PC to Que and proceed to wait (see what i did there?)
Get PC tested (makes sure it doesn't trip out and cause issues)
Find a seat.
GAME ON!

Jokes aside, follow the directions, take it easy and enjoy the event, it generally runs smoothly.
Most people are also willing to help and give advice, all in good spirit and nature of the event.

I wonder if there will be cool stuff in the goodie bag this year? MMM like some kick a$$ alienware merchandise and maybe another T-shirt like in 2008? You know 2010 is a big deal its the events 8th year running so thats some kind of mile stone to be celebrating with a T-shirt or something

The T-Shirts last year were a nice touch, as well as being able to get the play energy drink ones.
2008 when they gave a seat cushion was also very appreciated, pity the foam turned out to be a square piece of air, but the thought to aid or endeavor was cool.

Internet Connection
Yes, there will definitely be an Internet connection at the LAN this year, since too many games require online authentication in order to play them. Details of how it will work will be released much closer to the time.

Parking
It seems that there was a problem with the planned parking tickets (still waiting for a response on what exactly went wrong), but in the mean time rest assured that your Computicket ticket you have in your hands right now serve as confirmation that you will get parking, so dont stress about that.
