OT: Is playing Arkham Asylum right to the end important to the story of this? I played pretty far on a (pirate) copy a year or two ago and now that I own the Steam version I don't really want to go through all of it again just to get to the point I was at.
    1) Don't worry about having played the first game, but do read a plot summary. There are lots of references to the Titan forumla and the state of various villains. Brush up on your Arkham Asylum lore (the plot summary in Wikipedia should help) and you'll appreciate all that a lot more.

I plan to play Batman AA again because I want to maximize my enjoyment of Batman AC game :D

Don't know how important it is story wise but the game is worth a playthrough though.

Also picked up my CE yesterday and it is beautiful. And it has about 10 DLC's included (6 Batmen, Catwoman, Robin, Challengemap thing and soundtrack). So make a plan with internet (Btw, I only have a 384 line, so it's not that bad.) Can't wait to start playing tomorrow.

I'd be interested to hear what it is about the game that you find lacking. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and just because a game is the critics darling certainly doesn't mean it's above criticism or that everyone should be falling in line with the general consensus; I truly am fascinated to hear your reasoning, thus far the game is anything but average for me.

Pretty much how I felt about AA, and might be why I'm not quite as excited for this game. AA was awesome, but only in short bursts. Most of the fun was in watching batman flow from combat move to combat move during combat. It was amazing to watch. Aside from that, I didn't much care for the story.

Please, dudes who have the game, tell me this is not true[please]. Cauz if it is, I sadly will never ever manage to play as one of the most sexiest fictional characters ever created.

    :o[
Yes it's true, its 217mb, quite funny how in a Batman game the first person you play as is Catwoman :) I prefer her combat anyway looks much better, maybe they will make a Catwoman game.

Also the DLC packs are 22mb each and the game comes with a 75mb patch as well.

I got both the Animated Batman Costume and the Sinestro Corps costume. They pretty cool, looks like the animated costume also falls over to Catwoman as well.

For those who already have the game and can't find the secrets themselves - for those who don't . . . SPOILERS
    here

Mark Hamill said a while back that his performance in Batman: Arkham City would be his last as the Joker. Now, as a Batman fan, I hoped that he wasn't serious - he's the Joker that I grew up with, and I think he's the best one. Well, as much as it pains me to admit, it looks like he was indeed serious. Hamill took to his Twitter to say his goodbye to the Clown Prince of Crime.

Can't think of anyone else who could even come close to M.H voicing the Joker, however, you never know what hidden talent there is out there . . .

I'm so glad I bought this game.

    It's superb.

The whole city oozes with quality, the combat is much better (It was great in the first place), the side missions are distracting as hell, and I've played lot today and didn't even get that far, thanks to the side missions, the Riddler Challenges are no cake walk.

If anyone tell you this game is not good, they're not that "lekker" in their head.

Im having trouble deciding if the collector’s edition is worth it? Has anyone else got it and can vouch for its awesomeness, or is the vanilla game with the Catwoman DLC all you could need?

Yeah, it's worth it. You get an awesome looking Batman figure and 6 different Batmen to do the Challenge maps with.

So far there's not much variety in the gameplay. Would have loved more options when you scan an area from a vantage point, but all you can basically do is glide kick, fight a little, smoke pellet, back to vantage point. You cannot even disarm a guy from a vantage point. It all feels a little...bland. And riddle me this: How does Batman hang upside down, without his cape falling over his head? I was just wondering...

I don't think what you say here is fair. ( Not looking for a fight )
The gameplay is really good and varied. Most games don't have this type of variety. Puzzles, combat, different ways of navigation depending on terrain or the gadgets that are currently available, different gameplay when Catwoman is added to the mix, situations that differ from place or villian.

As for the whole cape question. I'm not sure if I can use Batman Begins as an example, but it's the one example I can give you. In the film where Lucius Fox demonstrates the material, he sends a electric pulse through the material, and it takes shape. So, I guess he can make it not falling over his head this way. Or we can look at it from this perspective: It's Batman, he's awesome, and he can do awesome unexplainable things and look awesome while doing it. :)

The Wolf, you don't quite understand. Slither is a compulsive complainer. If there's nothing wrong with something, he'll find something to complain about.
