Yeah, the marks were changed. In the upper spectrum however, it didn't change much. For instance, all of my friends who usually got around 75-80 got their A's for Maths in matric, while those who usually got around 65-74 didn't get A's, so IMO the Maths part went fine.
As for Science, which I wrote: The first thing I thought after stepping out of the exam room was: "That paper was under standard", because it was. The real reason for the 0 - 48 thing is the previous year the markers applied strange methods when marking. For instance, in an answer with a unit like m.s^-1 the '.' had to appear in the middle between m and s, otherwise, you'd lose a mark. Ridiculous stuff like that were enforced the previous year, that's why so few pupils got A's for Science in 2009. As for Accounting, I'd say it was definitely on standard. Those that usually got 80-85 in school all missed their A's. Afrikaans marks were adjusted heavily as well.
