Well for starters, The IT Crowd doesn't make me want to go on a homicidal killing spree as compared to the time when I once watched 5 minutes of Big Bang Theory.

The IT Crowd, is brilliant, genuinely funny, well written and well cast. Plus, if you work actually work in the IT department, these guys will be like heroes to you. Basically the opposite of Big Bang Theory.

Well started watching season1 of Fringe about a week ago and thought it was awesome. Then season 2 came and effed everything up. Basically forcing myself to get through it now.

    Sigh.

Watched a bit of a series called 1000 Ways To Die on youtube, some pretty lol deaths there.
The one guy got a meteor through the chest cos the universe thought he was a buzzkill.

Id like to watch Big Bang Theory, but id need to watch it from the start.

Next year ill be buying the 3 Seasons of Star Trek The Original Series. Then ill get all the seasons of House M.D.

I spend more time watching series on Discovery and Food Network. Iron Chef America is just too lol, and you guys have to watch the Food Network Challenge, They had a Pumpkin Carving contest the other day.

I'm currently looking for a LOST-type show, but no luck so far. The Event has been a huge disappointment, not going to bother watching it anymore.

A lot of people complained about how complicated LOST was, how it never gave answers and that its mythology was too confusing, but that's one of the reasons I loved the show. It's like Inception on TV, but with added daddy issues.

I absolutely hate it when a show has no direction, with the writers making things up as they go along, which is why I stopped watching Heroes and Smallville.

So I'd really love a show with one good, continuous storyline, besides Supernatural, which I'm trying to get a hold of. I've heard Fringe is quite good, can anyone vouch for it?

I'm currently watching The Cleveland Show. It's quite a good show but it doesn't feel the same without Stewie and all of the crazy schemes he's up to.

What about Dexter or Breaking Bad?

Can't vouch for Fringe but have heard good things as I'm sure you have ;P

Fringe rocks hard. J.J Abrams, who of course worked on LOST, is one of the creators of Fringe. Easy to follow, sometimes creepy, interesting series.

The problem is... I can't stand those forensic/police investigation CSI type shows. Story-lines that are resolved in one episode are just meh to me.

Dexter does look awesome though, my friend showed me an episode and I couldn't believe the **** the guy does. Michael C. Hall ftw.

EDIT: that's exactly what I wanted to hear Obi!

Wut. The Office is absolutely brilliant, that's why it deservedly won awards. It was quite ground breaking in its use of a mocumentary style for TV, as this had only really been used in film before. It relies on discomfort, tension and body language for humour as opposed to jokes, and it's this which makes it so outstanding. I find humour like this far more engaging and funny than the crap formula that US sitcoms use, where all the humour is shoved in your face in the form of unimaginative one liners and slapstick bull****. The Office is far more believable because the humour is more natural.

Just finished Spartacus yesterday. Enjoyed it but not good enough for a second run through.

    @anona,

The office (American and British) is the funniest series' I watched in a long time. It's not your traditional How I Met Your Mother humour, it's intellectual dry humour and that's where the Britons excel in.

Next on my list to watch is Macguyver, ja...it's on the bucket list and nothing I can do about it. :)

Hmm, I have yet to watch The Event. Most people claim this new show is a new LOST. Care to elaborate why this show is crap? I plan to watch this new show next month.

Lost finale season was so disappointing, imho. It went downhill ever since the end of season 4.

    SPOILER ALERT (LOST):

(By turning the donkey wheel, the rock disappeared right in front of Jack and the handful of survivors. Normal science will never explain that.)

Way too far-fetched. Lost writers promised us that everything will be explained by normal science. They failed to fulfill the promise :/ Too many questions left unanswered. Not cool anymore.

Current TV shows - The Big Bang Theory, Sh** My Dad says, The Walking Dead season 1(I think it's a new LOST minus crappy s4-s6)

Still looking for really good sci-fi tv shows.

I'm about 8 episodes into The Event, and it just seems to be going nowhere at all. The characters, apart from the main guy (who's name I didn't even bother to remember), are boring, dull, and one-dimensional. Really no motivation at all to keep on watching, as the main 'mystery' isn't all that intriguing.

Completely disagree on your views of LOST. The show isn't supposed to be hard-science fiction, I've no idea where you read that. By real science, they meant based on scientific concepts, like time travel. The island disappeared because everything is part of the space-time continuum, with the island being able to move freely through all four dimensions. Hell, even the season 5 finale delved deep into the confines of quantum physics!

And if you think LOST is far-fetched, don't even bother with the first episode of The Event.

    SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!

Well, what about the smoke monster? What scientific concept does it base on? I once thought it was made of flying nano-bots. Why it's important to have someone in charge of the island? What makes Walt so special? How the hell did Walt get back on the Island in the season 3 finale? Why did Hurley and Ben protect the Island after MiB died? Blind faith? There are a lot of plot-holes in this show. Too many questions left unanswered after the end of Lost. That's what make Lost a fail show. It sounds like the writers made things up as they went along!

The most disappointing of all is that in season 6 finale, it's revealed that everyone is already dead. The writers rejected the purgatory theory when season 1 was being aired at that time.

    SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!

In conclusion, Lost = The biggest cop-out of a show.

Plot holes? No, it just requires a bit of thought from yourself. LOST isn't a show that spoon-feeds its audience, it gives them questions and leaves these questions open to interpretation. The writers made it quite clear that they were only going to answer the mysteries that mattered, and they did (the smoke monster, the numbers, Jacob, and why they were brought to the island). Everything else... up for you to decide. Just read some of the theories on the net, and you'll understand why I made the comparison between Inception.

They weren't in purgatory, the 'alternative timeline' was purgatory. The main story actually happened.

If they made everything up, explain the Adam and Eve skeletons. Or again, the numbers. The statue. Nope, I think they had the main plot mapped out pretty well. Some stuff they added on as they went along, like Ben and the purgatory timeline. Also, there's a bonus scene on The Complete Lost Experience DVD involving Walt, which I'd like to get a hold of.

I'd like to add that, at the end of the day, LOST has always been about the characters, not the mythology surrounding it. So I think you're trying a bit too hard to hate on it, just like I'm trying a bit too hard to defend it :P

EDIT: I loved the finale. The whole purgatory thing wasn't executed all that well, but it did well to give a bit of closure. And while the final scene we all saw coming from season 1, it was nevertheless deeply moving.

    Glad I'm not alone here!

I was into this show for the elusive mysteries of the Island. I thought they would eventually be answered by normal science. That is what Lost writers promised us! (Use google, Parker) That is the reason why I kept watching Lost all the way to the end.

Poor writing!!! See? Lost writers suck at writing a really good story that will leave its audience feel satisfied both emotionally and intellectually. Evidently, they didn't map out an entire story before airing the show for the first time. In my opinion, it is what make Lost a biggest cop-out of a show in history! Parker, didn't you even notice at least one plot-hole that is too important to ignore when comes to understanding the entire story?

Here you go! Top 10 Lost plot Holes - It contains a lot of spoilers!!! Don't go there unless you saw all the seasons!!!!!!!! BE WARNED!!!!

The whole purgatory thing wasn't executed all that well
    it was done so poorly!!!

You're nit-picking Furry. I feel completely satisfied, and I was an addict, reading up everything I could find on the show. But like I said, they answered all the questions that mattered, and left the rest for you to decide.

And most of the stuff in the link you posted was answered... you just had to PAY ATTENTION. Most of those aren't even holes, just "unanswered" questions.
