Excuse me guys but why didn't any of you relay the point that Community was awesome? Oh sure brief mentions of it occurred but seriously, not enough hype. Most importantly, why did nobody think it was necessary to inform me that Chevy Chase was in it and on top form? You know what, I am disappointed guys... very disappointed.
Now the story of a wealthy family who lost everything and the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together. It's Arrested Development!
Started the first season this weekend and can't understand how I missed this when it was originally on TV. It's brilliant.
I'm jealous that you are getting to experience this for the first time. It is the best written show and I must admit you can re-watch episodes over an over and still get a new laugh in. In fact I was watching a couple episodes the other day, introducing yet another buddy to it, and was in hysterics. Just to highlight how well written the show is: in the pilot episode they make reference to things that happen in the third (and final :( ) season. Enjoy it.

Got The Walking Dead S01 this weekend, and must say I enjoyd it. Can't wait for S02...
"Hey you. Dumbass. Yeah, you in the tank. Cozy in there?"
See if you can get hold of the comics to hold you over until Season 2.
Everywhere I go they don't have Vol 1, and I don't want to order it... maybe I should just order it.
But I love the show, and that scene was funny. Was cracking myself up with the Latino who gets shot in the ass with an arrow. And how hardcore they act, but meanwhile their a bunch of nurses. Haha
Current TV shows:
Fringe S2 (I think it's one of the most underrated tv shows. I really enjoy watching it)
The Big Bang Theory
The Middle
****! My dad says
Fringe S02E12 - Johari Window - 8/10
Fringe S02E13 - What Lies Below - 9/10 - One of the best episodes!!!
Fringe S02E14 - The Bishop Revival - 8/10
It's getting better!!! Yahooo!!!!
The Big Bang Theory S04E22 - The Wildebeest Implementation - 7/10
The Big Bang Theory S04E23 The Engagement Reaction - 8/10
House S7 Episodes 1 through 18 (Yeah that's right DSTV you suck! I am 3 Episodes behind America, you just started now!)
Black Books. . .Seriously excellent! You NEED to watch this!
I'm planning on starting Fringe soon. I've heard good things about it, but I'd like to know, does it have an over-arching story, or is it another of those shows with self-contained stories in each episode? And by over-arching story, I don't mean across one season, I mean across the whole show, ala Supernatural or Lost.
Stupid question to some, but I hate shows where everything is resolved in one episode. It's why Ive never been able to get into those "forensic" shows, or even Nikita.
The story's really good. That's one of the main reason why I love the show.
Every episode (Keep in mind that I'm still on S2) has things that are related to the main storyline. In other words, there are no stand-alone episodes. Every episode always ends with a jaw-dropping cliffhanger.
If you enjoyed Lost, then I'm 100% sure that you will enjoy this show.
That's exactly what I wanted to hear, thanks man!
A bit late I know but there is a box set for around R300(DVD) which is cheap for such an awesome show. I have not watched Pacific but same people that made BOB so really want it.
Also sad news...
**** Winters died February this year. :'(
I started watching Star Gate again, still my favorite series.
So true. I hate shows that don't go deep into their characters' back stories or motives/beliefs/morals/personality. Kind of shallow otherwise. The story doesn't flow or continue into the next episode. Like CSI or Navy NCIS. Does anybody know anything meaningful about the characters in these afar mentioned shows other than the fact that they can do thier jobs properly?

^For me that only works for comedy Sitcoms. Like the Simpsons, South Park, Moden Family, etc. And I hate CSI, where in the world do cops have facilities like that. It's like something out of Star Trek. :)
Hahaha, I wouldn't know about that but, I just dislike those kinda shows. And yeah, that format (where the story doesn't flow) suits sitcoms and cartoons. At least comedies like Til' Death, How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men keep you interested in their characters (or you know about the characters. Eg: we know Charlie is a chauvinistic womaniser in TaaHM), unlike CSI. I couldn't care what happens to the characters in CSI or Navy NCIS. They seem like souless tools...
Shows like Supernatural also have the format where they fight a specific enemy each episode, but there's a commom goal that they're striving towards through all their demon killing...it's meaningful and you wish no harm upon Sam and Dean...
Supernatural's different, as every third episode deals with the mythology and advances the story.
