Thread: The Official Series thread

Heh, just finished watching Vampire Diaries season 2. The series has really gone from mediocre to quite good.

I just love how everybody baww'd at the last episode, when I thought it was quiet obvious that Damon wouldn't die, seeing as he's a main character and there wouldn't really be a Vampire Diaries without him. :P

Damon pretty much is Vampire Diaries, though I don't think killing him and bringing him back through some obscure hocus pocus would've been out of reach of the writers. Sure Bonnie could've pulled some spell out of her fine ass :P

I actually thought episode 21 was better. What ruined this one for me was Jeremy not ****ing dying. They obviously brought him back for the sole purpose of having the 'OMG I SO DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING' twist at the end. A shame... Well, at least Stephan's going to start being a bad-ass.

    Looking forward to September!

Yeah, I was actually surprised at how 'meh' episode 22 was, especially after how epic 21 was.

Also, I totally saw Elijah's death coming. Still sucks that it happened, though.

Yeah, I would just like to add that while I have mentioned series before that were phenomenal, nothing comes even close to The Sopranos. I'm only on the 3rd season and everything has already blown me away. The acting is in some cases better than a movie, the soundtrack is perfect and the story hooks you and doesn't let go. At all. I'm not even mentioning the memorable characters and the emotional bonds you feel with them.

It takes a lot to make you feel sympathetic towards a murdering Mafia boss, but I caught myself constantly saying to myself: They should totally whack this or that guy. I'm enjoying this even more than I did The Godfather. And that is saying a lot.

Didn't see if anyone mentioned it, but Game Of Thrones is running on HBO at the moment, and is one of the best series I've ever seen. It's pretty adult focussed, and the violence towards animals in a few parts will be offputting to some, but it's kinda like a medieval Supranos with a dash of Rome in there too. Ordered the books this morning.

Man, I really want to watch Game Of Thrones. Sucks not to have HBO... Will have to wait for DVDs. :/

I'm on Fringe S3 now. I have to say that it's the best Fringe season!!! So far, every episode's all about advancing the story which is good. Anna Torva's really good! Glad to hear that S4 premiere will be aired in September this year.

I saw The Big Bang Theory S4 finale (9/10 - Hilarious!) 2 weeks ago. Boy, I honestly didn't see it coming at all. Can't wait for S5.

I really miss watching The Walking Dead. 4 more months till S2 premiere.

The numbering on the discs are really confusing and am wondering if it's a manufacturing fault that slipped pass Q.C.

On Season 1, the discs are marked from 1-7.
On Season 2, the discs are marked from 2-8.
On Season 3, the discs are marked from 9-16.

Now, the final disc of Season 2 seems a bit messed up. It only showed me 1 half of the 2 part season finale and then instead of following up, it showed me 2 episodes which were in season 1. It doesn't continue on Season 3, so I have an episode missing with crucial plot-twists and **** that I will never know of.

Not sure if I just got a faulty disc or if they were all screwed during manufacturing. Considering that it's quite an expensive series to buy off the shelf, I'd prefer to have it complete and not like something I got off ****ing limewire.
    I have SG-1 seasons 1-3.

I finally got round to getting my copy of The walking dead season 1. **** balls I loved every minute of it.

I love how it's zombie slaying in the traditional manner yet every now and then the characters stop to think that the zombies were once people too. And then they develop the characters too despite all the other crazy **** that's going on. And I love the "realism" of it all. Yeah people are going to turn on one another sooner and later, it's not just you against the zombies, you need to watch your back as your fellow man could be the one that kills you first. Now most of this as been done before in some way or another but not all packaged together in a series before.

One thing though, why do they never call zombies what they are, zombies. It's the same every time. "The dead are walking the streets" "what do you mean?" "the dead, they rise again". I'll be like "the dead are walking the streets" "You mean there's ****ing zombies!!!!!!!!!"

Anyway, I seriously cannot wait for season 2.

Finished up The Sopranos last week and it was phenomenal. This is what all series should strive to be: Not the story part, but the acting, music, dialogue etc. And they couldn't have chosen a better ending.

When it comes to that ending, I went from hating it out of all out frustration to loving it for its genius the next day. I do miss Tony and the family though.

Started off watching Camelot a few days ago. I'm not hooked, in fact, I find it quite boring. There isn't much interest in the series whatsoever, and I can see why. Acting is lame-ish and weak, and it seems the series is fixed on sex rather than the story. Also, too many people are trying to set up a new story around the classic. The best one of the lot is probably Merlin, but I somehow lost interest in it as well.

Anyone else have a different view on Camelot?

I'm quite fond of "geeks", personally.

Fixed my brother's Xbox this weekend and he bought me Season 1 of Breaking Bad in return. It's incredibly entertaining and I went out and bought Season 2 as well since I got hooked on it like as if it was...well, meth.

Cooking meth has never been so entertaining.

I have the individual DVD boxsets, but I watched one of the bonus feature DVDs on one of the seasons and they do fill you in on the bits that are missing, so it's not a complete loss.

No I love "geeks" too. It's got more to do with when they try and describe them. They will use every possible term to describe them instead of just saying "zombie". Everyone knows what a zombie is.

Cannot wait to see what Merle will do in season 2.
