That is pretty awesome, nice one ioiiooio. I'm liking the urban sphycodelic feel.
Thanks. Ya, I love love love bright trippy colours. Planning on doing something similar using layers of cut-out day-glo stickers to stick up around town.
ioiiooio, those images kinda makes me think of a dildo every time I see one. I dunno why though, it's quite disturbing TBH.
EDIT: It looks wicked though, nice work. Can you make some boobs next?
It's been a while since we've had one of these, and I know there are many artists on this forum. Even the doodles at the bottom of your Maths book are welcome :)
Here are a few of mine:
Eyes are my favourite subject matter:
An abandoned attempt at drawing my cousins by copying a photo with a grid, a method I have since come to hate.

just an Earthworm jim design, just had the idea of a more serious looking Earthworm jim, and it sort of defeats the purpose of him, but i really liked the way it came out :)

So I have started making some actual cartoons strips
Don't know why I can't directly link to this image :/
Now I just need to stop procrastinating so as to get more out. That and maybe get funnier ;P

Tried using TinyPic? Not all sites support image hosting...
I normally use Photobucket, which serves me just fine, but this is an actual comic hosting site that I decided to try. It's free hosting but they probably have something against people not going to the actual site, thus avoiding their advertising, maybe? Anyways, not the end of the world.
Thank you.
I don't know if I'll be able to,at the moment I'm busy doing 5 minute rough sketches at varsity to pass some time .But I am starting to draw poses from photographs(if that helps).
Honestly, drawing from photos isn't very helpful. This is because your brain works in a different way when you're copying 2D references compared to when you're drawing something real in front of you. Copying photos is just a matter of copying flat shapes. Drawing from life, on the other hand, requires you to observe the reference in three dimensions and then reinterpret that spatially to work in two dimensions. It's a very different process. Anyone can copy a photo but it takes a lot more practice to draw from life, and ultimately the latter is far more beneficial in terms of developing artistic ability. Furthermore, images copied from 2D references always look flat and lifeless and lack dynamic. If you don't have any people to pose for you, then draw any random objects around you; the key is simply to develop your observation and interpretation of form and perspective, and while drawing human models is the most fun and satisfying, you can nevertheless develop these skills by drawing anything around you.
Coolio,I'll draw some random people/objects I see at varsity.Theres always one or two people that sit in the same place for enough time for me to get their dimensions down..and well objects (like tables, pillars, pot plants) are all over the place in any public space.Would blank paper be better to work on ,so that I don't become reliant on lines?
Random question: Is it bad to close one eye sometimes when drawing from real life? Often if I'm having a hard time focusing I close my left eye, but then of course I suddenly notice that the perspective and angle has changed somewhat. This is particularly noteworthy with smaller objects. Try it with a pen and rubber placed on a table for example. Any tips?
The paper doesn't really make a difference. You can easily ignore lines on it.
ioiiooio, it's fine to occasionally close one eye while drawing. Since you lose your depth perception when you do this, it flattens what you're seeing somewhat, which can help with tricky areas.
Someone really needs to post some more artwork now, because this thread is turning into a wall of text.
I find it easier to sometimes close my one eye when i focus on something smaller. If you are having trouble with the perspective and angle because of the closed eye, try moving your head a little to the left (left eye closed) to compensate for the shift of the view point.
Not sure if that helped at all, but let me search around to see if i have some art saved on this computer to post here.
OK, not sure how photobucket or tinypic works as i have never really shown my stuff over the internet.
This is the only picture i can post for now, its a recently done sketch of a ultramarine from warhammer 40k, i never finished it and it hasn't reached the point of me drawing it with a background (had this massive battlefield planned).
