Well I think Plants vs Zombies was the inspiration for the programmers. I was brought in to make it all pretty like but I haven't even played it yet. :O

If anything World of Goo copied my style. Just saying :P

Nope, I drew those too. I used some random "Tasteful" pictures from the net to get the shapes though.
