As a die-hard Battlefield fanatic, this game is definitely the best thing on the horizon for me. BC2 x BF2 = Fun Times.

Battlefield 3 single player 12 hours long

There is no doubt that most core FPS fans will be dying to get their hands on Battlefield 3, but most of them would probably tell you that the primary draw card in the multiplayer component.

However, DICE is adamant that a compelling single player campaign is important for the franchise, as it provides an accessible way to “introduce people” to the world of Battlefield.

"A lot of people don't want to jump straight into multiplayer. They want to feel around a bit and they're ready to move over to online,” said DICE general manager to Games.on.net.

"The hardcore online people, they don't care, they're just straight in. Maybe they don't even touch the campaign. But we want to get more people in, invite more people into the franchise. That's one of the main reasons why we have this different part of the game."

In PR speak “12 hours” roughly translates to “6-10” hours for a seasoned FPS junkie, which is pretty much par for the course with modern shooters.

The hand to hand looks good, just hope it's interactive.

The hand to hand was interactive, but it looked like a quick time event. If you look at the bottom corners of the screen there are circles or something placed in the corner which matches the hand being used to punch.

I didn't even see it. But thats great, because one thing games like these are missing is good CQC. And not just sneaking and then breaking someones neck, I mean good up front combat. Like Krav Mega...

I hear it's riddled with lag issues and that you can't select which map you play on. Also, the in-game currency does not allow you to purchase a lot of important items, meaning you have to pay for them with IRL money which, if you purchase everything, equates to 2 copies of Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Looks like theyre finally gonna show some console footage of the game

"We've seen quite a bit of the drop-dead gorgeous PC version of Battlefield 3, but thus far the console version has been kept out of the public eye. That's set to change tomorrow night, as Late Night with Jimmy Fallon will debut the console version of Battlefield 3. Specifically, the Battlefield Blog reveals that Jimmy will be demonstrating the PS3 version of the game with the help of DICE's Johan Dohl. The show is scheduled to air tomorrow night at 12:35AM (11:35PM CST)."
