I'm pretty pleased to see the GTX460 will handle itself quite remarkably even with DX11. I think I'll drop down to 1680x900 though an max it up. Should work well :)
Meh, I hope so. My 6870 can't even run BC2 on anything above low, and despite it clearly being a technical problem with my card and the game, I've never found a hotfix that works.
I'll rather just get the X-Box version. Yeah I'll miss out on the graphical achievements, but I'd rather go and put a down payment on a car than go and buy graphics card that would cost about the same price, because I will be running on Cross-fire, which means I'll need to of those bad boys.
Same here tho, my max res is 1650x1050 and I have a GTX465 so I'll probably look at 40fps. I wonder if those benchmarks have AA enabled if it is then I can add another 10fps when I disable it.
:/ wut? low with a 6870 but its better then my card and I run it at max. You sir have a serious problem.
This is what I absolutely hate about PCs. I'm expected to know what my card is the equivalent of on that list in order to guesstimate if my PC can run this game or not. Last time I was in the loop on hardware, the C2D was the ****, I think back in 2006 or so.
Not specifically this, but game specifications that ask "Geforce 23434242 or equivalent". I'm sorry, I don't know the equivalent. :<
Xbox it is then! \o/
I had no idea that 2grand is enough for a down payment on a car. Who forces you to cross-fire btw? Call the police and get them to take that guys gun from your head.
If you tell me what card you have I can help you :P
In all seriousness though. The PC version is going to have more players and bigger maps.
Ok, I'll bite. I have a XFX HD4870 x2 2GB GDDR5. Where on that scale am I?
Thanks Chevron. Now I know I can play the game maxed :D
I really cannot wait for this game. Although I can play it on max settings, I will get it on consoles due to the whole EA Origin thing.
I'm with you on this one. I was gonna upgrade my PC in anticipation for this, but my current one will run it fine so I would rather spend the upgrade cash on an iMac. Also, as far as I know, most of the people that I prefer playing online with are going for the Xbox version.
http://www.videogamepride.com/index....lefield-3-bf3/DICE has said today that they won’t be putting civilians in harm’s way in their upcoming first person shooter Battlefield 3 because they believe that players have a tendency to do “bad things” and that any blame would be put squarely at the feet of the Swedish developer. “If you put the player in front of a choice where they can do good things or bad things, they will do bad things, go dark side – because people think it’s cool to be naughty, they won’t be caught,” explained Battlefield 3 executive producer Patrick Bach.
I don't ever recall shooting civilians in any of the Battlefield games.
DICE wants you to concentrate on fighting the enemy and not killing innocent civilians
He then went on to say that he didn’t want to see videos on the internet after the release of the game depicted gamers shooting civilians and said “That’s something I will sanitise by removing that feature from the game”. Bach believes that DICE would be burdened with the blame if such a thing did occur and so they have prevented the player from ever being able to do it in a move which I agree with entirely and as a result Bach hopes that games as well as their audience and creators will mature.
I'm pretty sure it's just a jab at COD's "No Russian" debacle.
Just noticed that both BF3 and CoD: MW3 are available for pre-order. Note the price difference: BF3 is the average, to-be-expected R359 at Incredible Connection (and you get your 13GB cap then), while MW3 is a *gulp* semi-unmentionable R449. If I wanted to pay console prices for games, I'd have gotten a console, really. It's insane, BF3 is the clear pick of the two. Think I'll pre-order it either this week or the next. Just have to work myself up to it.
