Thread: Assassin's Creed Revelations

I'm not sure if I've posted this before, but the improvements to the multiplayer are simply brilliant. I became very good at Brotherhood's MP, and was initially a bit rubbish at some of the new modes due to them removing the radar, but now that it's clicked, I am loving it. Too bad it often takes long to find a game.

Just started Revelations last night. Kicks off with a real bang! Did my first Den defence before I stopped for the evening and I gotta say I'm not sold on it. As for the rest, HOOKBLADE FTW! Also, anyone interested in some MP around month end?

Yes. I just need to get back into it. God of War 3 has been taking a lot of spare time, haven't played Revelations in about 6 weeks. I feel so guilty, leaving one of my favourite games just like that...

Also, am I the only one who thinks the Den Defense is actually pretty fun? I guess it can become a tedious task after a few times, but the two/three times I've tried it was actually pretty fun. Mind you, I do like the "Age of Empires" type of play you put into completing it, placing all those guys all across those rooftops, infammo in your pistol... :D

I absolutely hate Den defense. Mostly because it feels like my assassins never do what they're supposed to do. They stand around and get shot without shooting back, even when there's a clear line of sight between them and the enemy (I mean, how the **** else would they be getting shot?).

And even when I'm having a perfect run, in comes the tank thing at the end and 'herp your defences are useless' and BOOM!, my den is lost.

I read in a review that there is a part of the game you spend playing in first person. Is that true? And ffs is Lucy dead or not?

You played Brotherhood? You stab her at the end, in the ending of the game. Thus forcing you to buy Revelations, revealing that she is, in fact, dead, and you're not even there for her funeral.

Remember that you could avoid Den Defense entirely by simply not being notorious (assuming you've got all the Templar Dens liberated, of course) and then assigning assassins (at level 10) to each den. You then do a mission for each of these assassins, part one at first and then part two once they hit level 15, and you get seven master assassins, an achievement, and will never do another Den Defense, unless you replay that memory in Sequence 2.

I've spent the last few days only collecting things. Got the scrolls, got the mission-related books, almost got all of the data fragments, renovated 90% of Constantinople. I'm only on Sequence 4, as far as the story goes.

Does anyone know if the Sage Achievement is still glitched? I heard that it stopped unlocking after the last title update, and there's been no word on it, since. I've been ignoring the books at the shops for this reason.

Loving the game so far, by the way. It's definitely a stretch from Brotherhood, and doesn't do very much new, but I enjoyed Brotherhood and in the same respect, I'm enjoying Revelations (miss my cape, though) and the new additions (both bombs and Yahtzee's favourite Hookblade) are interesting enough to keep things slightly fresh. AC was never about non-stop action anyway, and I realise that.

IMO the renovating the city thing is boring as **** for me. It was fun in Brotherhood but now you get to do everything all over again. I also noticed that wearing Ezios ultimate costume thing doesnt show in cut scenes. A little lame don't you think? The grey costume looks better anyways...

Best things about Revelations must the hookblade and bombcrafting, can't get enough of them!

it is just me or have they screwed up Ezio's face in the Cutscenes...

Not only his, Desmond also looks nothing like he did in the previous games.

If you look at him from the side it look terrible... like they have added half a meter to the front of his face :/

Looks like they tried making them look more realistic. Desmond looks the worst, also just remember that Ezio is much older now, so he would look different of course.

    This.

But he looks weak for some reason. I feel like I don't want to climb with the old man too much, out of fear that I may break him.

Indeed, but you don't undergo a full facial reconstruction just because you get older. :P I only recognized him because his eyes still looked the same, and he had the tell-tale scar on his lip.

Which brings me to another point, I wonder what the significance is of both Ezio and Desmond having almost the exact same scar across their mouths? It's too identical to be a mere coincidence.
I almost think Altair also had the same scar, but I can't remember for sure right now.

Also, he is over 60 in the game, I believe. I'm surprised he can still climb at all, to be honest. :P

I actually like the look of Desmond now, they put much more work and detail into his face than the previous games (compare to the Desmond you see in a cutscene at the start of the game).

Really? I actually thought it was the other way around. His face seemed detail-less as if they used low-res textures for it.

Yeah coz he his [supposedly] weaker yet he even moves at the same speed.

It is not the detail on the face that sucks he looks great from directly infront but from the side I cant dealz. GASH.

Hmm, might be an issue on my PC then, as mine isn't that detailed.

Either way, I much prefer the old Desmond. The new one looks like a man in his 40s, whereas the old one looked like late 20s. Not even their hair or eye color is the same. It's like looking at two totally different characters.

I agree but I remember reading an article that UbiSoft blamed that on the bleeding effect.
