I will have that. I simply must.
@ sptj07 haha maybe hey. I can remember a couple of people asking me if I need help carrying it to my car. :-P I know there was something that BT Games cut short the pre-order stock on Collector's and a lot of people was ****ed off that night. Luckily I paid for mine in full about a week before the time so my copy was secured.
Anybody know if they announced an official release date for D3?
Nope, at this time it's only early 2012, which is probably March or April.
And why the hell is no-one talking about that cinematic trailer? All my fears of Diablo becoming more and more cartoony (like Warcraft 3) just disappeared with that trailer. Azmodan looks like a badass. It's all dark as hell and the monsters scare me, just like they should. I just like to know how he/something else will resurrect the other three Prime Evils. I would so like to see Diablo, Mephisto and Baal in 3D.
I finally have a reason to use that R200 off voucher i scored at RAGE.
Diablo 3 collectors edition, your soul will belong to me.
I thought the trailer was amazing. As always, Blizzard never disappoints when it comes top CG trailers. I did expect some action and I was hoping to see Tariel. I take it that the girl is related to Deckard Cain and will be an NPC in the game that you would have to rescue at some point? Or she will be the reason (by accident) that Diablo returns.
I just hope that they don't go too off plot. Meaning the game sticks to Diablo and does not focus as much on his brothers or something.
The girl (Leah) is Deckard Cain's adopted "niece"*. You meet her very early in the game, no rescuing required (although you do have to rescue Cain, again), and she'll be a constant character throughout the game. She's basically there to help new players feel more connected to the world, as she learns about the whole situation and history as you progress through the story.
Personally, I'd have no issue with the game dealing with any of the Lords. I loved the fact that there was more to the other games than just killing Diablo. It's like, you're never safe, no matter how many of them you defeat.
*EDIT: Oh, sorry, I see that they've actually addressed how retarded that was. She seems to officially be Cain's adopted daughter.
That is odd. His adopted daughter??.... I know that Diablo 3 will have an expansion or two so they will focus on other characters as well. But I just felt that Diablo died too quickly in D2. So he was a bitch to kill but when he finally became his demon form, you go off to kill him. I don't know, I just wanted to see more...well destruction from him.
I never felt "afraid" to face Diablo in D2. I was more scared to face Baal in the expansion because there was a bigger build up towards the end. I still have a feeling that Tariel will be corrupted throughout the game and he will be one of the bosses in D3. I just can't wait to play the damn game! But I really want to see those cinematic scenes in the game. :-)
Hmm, maybe it's about time I finished Diablo 2 for once.
I wonder is anyone ever tried playing the Diablo 2 mod "Median XL OMEGA" epic stuff.. but damn hard,
I can see why blizzard supported the mod.
I see no one read the NAG review.
Sigh.
Yes YES and YES.I loved the fact that there was more to the other games than just killing Diablo. It's like, you're never safe, no matter how many of them you defeat.
Hoping to see the fabled "HARD CORE MODE" again

Hardcore mode has already been confirmed. Same rules as before. Only thing worth pointing out is that hardcore characters can't access the real money auction house.
Would that be due to the fact that 70% of the items in-game isn't available to players playing on Normal mode? It would certainly make sense.
According to the devs, the reason is because they don't want people spending real money on a character that could be rendered worthless in a second.
I'm not sure if the reports circulating are entirely accurate, or rather, I think they're getting their terminology confused. I'm fairly certain that the 70% thing relates to difficulty mode, not hardcore/normal mode. As in, you'll only have access to 30% of the items in your first play-through on normal difficulty, but if you want the good stuff, you have to play through multiple times on higher difficulty levels. Specifically, a report I read somewhere mentioned the "hardcore difficulty levels," in the same way one would say "crazy difficulty levels."
Just a heads up, those that want to buy the Collector's Edition needs to pre-order the standard edition from BT Games and then e-mail them your order number requesting an upgrade to the collector's edition. There are only 400 available. I'm not sure how TakeALot and Kalahari will have it.
Correct, there is nothing on the website that mentions this, but according to their Facebook page, you order you normal edition, then email your name / account number and order number to btgames.orders@btonline.co.za. First come first serve guys and girls.
I wonder if Azmodan is just a warm up boss in the game. I mean, he is a lesser evil and the game is still called Diablo, so surely all roads will lead back to him in some way. The trailer does look drooling and has just got my anticipation up a notch.
LinkyAzmodan, the Lord of Sin is a Lesser Evil, part of the Great Evils of the Burning Hells. He took part in the Dark Exile overthrowing the Prime Evils, wrongfully believing Diablo and his brothers to have hesitated in the Great Conflict. During the Dark Exile, Azmodan ruled half of Hell, opposing Belial. It is not known whether Azmodan joined Andariel and Duriel in supporting the Prime Evils' return. This point is moot, however, as all three Prime Evils were slain before they could formally take power over Hell again. It is likely that Azmodan and Belial returned to their civil war after the Prime Evils were defeated.
Did anyone get a confirmation email from BT Games after you requested to be upgraded to the Collectors Edition?
I did. About a day after I sent the mail. But I know that they have received a ton of e-mails about it and now with Battlefield 3 launching, they will be really busy sorting out other stuff so I would say e-mail them again on Monday if you have not received anything.
