don't build chests close to doors, he did and it broke it in half (yes even the sprite is in half) and everything in it including lots of gold and silver bars got lost, it also managed to create some kind of endless chest generating bug, so every time the door is opened a chest spawns that you can pick up.

I've never seen that before. :O Then again, I haven't built a chest close to a door. :P

Also, we mission down into the hell region using some awesome tactics and we find a demon mirror which he uses and unfortunately sells to the merchant because he thought he was in a chest putting it away :/

You mean a magic mirror? If it is then don't worry, they're pretty common. Too bad you're playing now and not the next patch, you're going to be able to buy your items back from merchants.

I built an obsidian generator last night. Managed to get a molten pickaxe and molten fury, and going to try get full molten armour by tonight. :D



Also, I'm really itching for some MP soon. Somebody with a 10mb connection needs to host. :P

While I was playing yesterday, I got a message saying, a Meteor has landed. I finally found it and was able to mine the meteor, but not enough to make anything with it.

Yup, you need at least a Nightmare pickaxe for obsidian.

Keep breaking shadow orbs. The first one will do nothing, second one will spawn a meteor, and third will spawn the Eater of Worlds. This cycle repeats for every shadow orb you break after.

I'd suggest farming the shadow orbs in the Corruption and eventually killing the Eater of Worlds to get Shadow armour. Also, kill the Eye of Cthulu if you haven't already. Then go to the dungeon and farm the chests for Muramasa and hopefully Blue Moon. You should also try to get max health (400) before you go to the Underworld. It's the highest end biome in the game so far, so obviously it's pretty difficult.

Fight the Eye of Cthulu again to make a nightmare pickaxe, if you haven't already. You can mine obsidian with it. Dungeon might be a good idea if you have enough potions and flaming arrows.

because going down and coming back up one bucket at a time seems a bit insane :D

It would be. That's why I use the infinite liquid cloning glitch.

Or you could just make a basic obsidian farm. This works best on a smaller map size as it would take less time to set up.

Find a spot and dig straight down, through any lakes you might hit. This will create one long ass tunnel that leads all the way to the underworld. BUT WAIT - just before you break the final few blocks of ash or whatever, dig a separate tunnel away from the water and dig all the way under a large cavern of lava in the underworld. Yes - you will need good armour and yes - you will get attacked heavily by fire imps/bone serpents but you'll just have to deal with that. If you find any lava laks above the underworld use those first. It will save you the trouble that is so common in the underworld.

After you've dug a tunnel under the lava, break the appropriate blocks to join the tunnels in a way that floods the tunnel under the lava with water. There should now be just one block of ash/hellstone/something between the water and the lava. Break it, and in it's place one block of obsidian should form. Break that block of obsidian and it will be replaced by another one.

This method is much easier, and shouldn't take too long to make. Plus it's renewable.

Something really strange has happened.

for some reason I can't craft anymore.
when I press escape to bring up the usual crafting screen (in front of a table, furnace, anvil or what have you) the options and interface never appear.

the inventory shows up, and my gear menu shows up but where the crafting interface used to be I know have nothing except the word "crafting"

anyone know what might have caused this ?
Me and my friend seem to be finding every possible bug in this game.

erm, never mind, it would seem summoning eye of Cthulu and going all righteous on his ass seems to have fixed it :P

Damn I love this game, me and my buddy got full armour sets today, me demonite and my friend meteor, I think next up we should go find some sky islands :P

There's a surprising amount of depth to the game, but it's not a craft-a-thon like Minecraft. Exploration is the main aim here.

We've finally confirmed things with MWEB and will be going ahead with the dedicated server within the month. Once that's up and running we'll get a Terraria and Minecraft server running.
