Thread: Playstation Vita

    Default Playstation Vita

With all the rumours and teases . . . Sony finally spilled the beans at E3. I don't whether I should be excited or not for this portable since portable gaming always leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth [ds, psp] . However this looks DAMN promising :

It really seems like a nifty little device. The touch screen gaming looks a little awkward to me, I'd rather use my thumbs. but I like the idea of the rear panel touch gaming. I'm hoping it will lead to some interesting new games. Hate the way Sony is still flaunting Sixaxis like it is something unique.

I want to get this when it comes out, very much keeping my eye on this one. Just going to wait and see what happens before though as I don't think it will be a launch day buy

A 4 core CPU on a mobile device... I can't imagine the battery life being any good, especially not with all those extra hardware features (touchscreens, Sixaxis...).

I love Uncharted and Konami will most likely release an MGS game in the near future, so I'm very interested in this device.

All I can say is this: Dual analog sticks, it's about time!

4 core CPU would most likely ensure better battery life?

I was looking forward to this, then I realised I have an iPod touch. I'd only really use it when travelling or standing in queue, and my iPod already fits that gap. Considering I have 32 games on it, many of them puzzle games with well over 100 levels and even a couple RPGs, there's a lot of gaming to be had.

I feel mobile phones have taken over the portable gaming industry, but considering the price Sony plans on selling this at, it could possibly work out.

Seems like a solid lineup and not too badly priced. I hope they don't region lock it.

[edit] Seems like it is region free. Good move Sony. I mean who would be dumb enough to lock a handheld you travel the world with? Oh, wait.

The pricing is in the first post. So should be R2500 and R2999 for the wifi and 3g versions respectively.

This looks very promising but i think people will be a bit put off that it doesn't support UMD's.

Battery life would be even worse with UMDs.
