"The first time we see Spider-Man in action, we also get to hear the character's trademark sarcasm (portrayed much more accurately than Raimi's films ever captured it)."
Maguire didn't portray Spiderman, Maguire simply put on the costume and became his own Spiderman. That worked for the first two, but after Ultimate Spiderman we can quite appreciate a ****ier, less 'boyscout-esque' character already past early puberty. The Raimi films were too black-and-white, either he was too nice or too sinister. The new film, from what that article claims, is set more in the grey area between such generic archetypes.
^^ I saw that a couple of minutes ago. Thought it was quite clever although it would have been better if he did not read his entire speech off the paper. :-P

One thing that I will really miss from the "old" Spider-Man movies, is this:
Just listening to it makes me want to watch it again.
Also kind off excited about the movie, grew with the movies although I'm not a big superhero fan, rather stupid, but whatever, I think he was the wrong choice for Spider-man, he looks more like a rich boy than a geek, fading away from the original movies like usual...
You are aware what the word Reboot means, right? The "original movies" weren't all that accurate when you look at the original cartoons, which again probably aren't that accurate to the original comics. Point is, using the Toby McGuire movies as a reference is not a good idea.
For me personally, I don't really care that much about how well the movies reflect the comics they are based on. I generally enjoy superhero movies quite a lot. There has been exceptions though. Daredevil and Elektra come to mind... *shudder*

That trailer with the first person camera work was amazing. Makes me itch for a Mirror's Edge-like Spiderman game.
That trailer ^ . . . MARVELous
Since I was a kid, Spider-Man(and Batman!) always had this magnetizing effect on me. More than all superheroes, Spidey just manages to catch my attention. He's such an amazing character because everyone can relate to him to an extent.
Most awesome pre-order incentive ever!!!

Stan Lee seems to cameo everywhere these days.
I've seen several iterations of Rhino, but this stalagmite wearing thing looks bad.
