Yeah, yeah I know. Swastikas are evil, but you are wrong. Some may know the true origins of the swastika but others don't so let me clarify things.

Now Hitlers is not much different from the original except he depicts it in a White Circle with a Red Background symbolizing power.
The origins of the Swastika are actually pretty good. It was the Aryans, a tribe of Asiatic Nomads that invaded India in 1500 BC from who Hitler adopted the Swastika. The word "swastika" comes from the Aryan word "svasti" which means, in the Ancient aryan language, 'Be well" or "Good luck", which is where the word "swastika" comes from. The Aryans first associated the symbol with the Fire god Agni, which may indicate that the Swastika is older than the Aryans them selves.

Throughout history, many people have adopted the Swastika symbol for various reasons, most of them good, from the Buddhists to the ancient Britons. There are churches in England which have swastikas engraved on Door frames dating back hundreds of years ago.
Unfortunatly hitler perveted the Swastika and now every person assumes the Swastika is pure evil.

I was just trying to explain some things to some people who don't know this. And while it may be common knowledge in Europe or America, not a lot of us in South Africa have this knowledge of the swastika.
