Somehow, the same for me. First one as well as Evolution was great, Rise of the Lycans was a bit of a failure and I simply hope this one doesn't follow suit. Guess it's a wait-and-see thing here.

I resurrect this thread in the name of Lychans and Vampires

So I watched Underworld : Awakening today in 3D. I enjoyed it quite a bit. What disappointed me though is that it could have felt more menacing , especially when it came to the big bad scary men and their scheming , didn't seem like there was a bigger picture. I was simply kept awake by the shards of glass that were speeding towards my face half the time. I flinched once. Resident Evil : Afterlife 3D takes this round.

Mate, you missed the boat completely. It's come and gone in both the 2D and 3D variants. I should know cause I watched them both. Watch your local DVD store, because I'm sure it'll be moving to that platform real soon.

I actually saw this a few days ago. Didn't assault me with unpleasentries, but I didn't really enjoy it. I'm the type of guy who agrees with the "Father" type of characters, and gets annoyed with hot headed protagonists. So when media treats the former as "bad" and the latter as "worse", I kinda go "eeeeeehhhhh". Some plot holes as well (as in how he big guy at the end was killed).

But yeah, no assault on the senses, not bad, just didn't really appeal to me either.

I'm also getting somewhat increasingly jaded when I see the "flame" explosions in movies ;P

Ditto. Underworld (for me) started pretty awesome, blew my mind at "Evolution" and when downhill from there. The last one didn't even really pull my focus. Bad 3D didn't help either.

I rather enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one to fill in the missing pieces.
