Thread: Lucid Dreaming

Apparently it is easier to do lucid dreaming if you are using the ubberman sleeping schedule. It's a polyphasic sleeping pattern that many people use to only sleep 2-3 hours a day.

I experienced lucid dreaming twice in my entire life. Only once did I experience sleep paralysis. That **** be scary.

    Something awesome:

It is possible to learn things while dreaming. For example, you could practice a song on guitar, and it would be the same as if you practiced it in real life (besides the physical aspects, of course). Apparently, you're using the same parts of your brain in both instances, and you're creating new neural impulses whilst dreaming as well.

This looks awesome. If I can fit it in with my current schedule I might actually give this a shot. Maybe over my vacation period.

I once had a lucid dream, where my lappa was being broken into and me and my dad went to go investigate... Bad idea as i saw the guy(had a baseball bat or golf club in my hand) and i was about to attack the robber inside the lappa, i got shot in the leg... At this point i felt an immense pain which i have never felt, i cant even describe it and i wouldn't wake up... but i knew i was dreaming. So i moved to get comfortable holding my leg in immense pain as the robber was about to shoot me again i woke up. Was scary as hell lol. Can't remember any others to be honest. But it was like no dream i ever had.

Not too sure if this was one, but the one when I got a motorbike I needed to find my leather gloves that went missing. I was looking for days to a point that one night I dreamt I was looking for it, not so much in control...more like an observer. I ended up "finding" it in my last draw right at the back of my closet. When I woke up I thought what the chances are. It was right where I ****ing found it in my dream, it really scared me ****less.

On another point this is quite interesting, the tired part after I wake up is a concern, is it really that intense to be in control of your dream?

Yes. Sleep is a state of mind your brain enters to rest. It quite literally shuts down. When you are in control of your dreams though, your brain gets no chance to rest, thus it remains active and remains tired - not good for if you really want to rest.

Ordered my calea, I'll have it next week!

Anyway, I had a lucid dream(my first) last night out of the blue. It was pretty brief, I was dreaming when suddenly I realized it was a dream and started waking up. I thought to myself "Naaw! I gotta get back in there!", I kept focussing on the dream in the brief moment I was awake and when I fell asleep again seconds later I was back in it and I had full control. I lapsed into dreamless sleep shortly after though, but the small period of lucidity was awesome.

Had a lucid dream last night. At some point in the dream I realized things were off, so I told myself it was a dream. It was the most vivid one I've ever had. I tried to change something, but everything seemed frozen in place, myself included. I thought if I closed my eyes for a bit and opened them again, I might be able to get some control, but alas, when I opened them I lay awake in my bed. :(

I've been trying to dream lucid for about 3 years now but I'm too damn lazy to write my dreams down after I wake up. I usually have the odd lucid dream in the morning. During the past week actually I realised I was dreaming when my Red Nintendo Wii was standing outside in the rain on my parents back porch. I mean come on, it was so obvious, my Wii is black! :P

Seriously though, I would really like to dream more lucid than I currently am. Most of the time I wake up right after I realize. :(

Oh and I usually look out for purple cats and weird times on clocks, watches etc. :P

Well there were some hiccoughs with the order and shipping, but I finally picked up my 10 grams of Calea today.

Gonna boil 5 grams into tea tonight and I'll post the results tomorrow! Not taking any chances, after drinking the tea I'm gonna eat the boiled leaves. If I can stomach it.

Oh nice, I'd like to know if it works or not.

I've been trying to get my hands on Silene Capensis. It's apparently much more effective than Calea. I don't want to buy the seeds cause I have a black thumb...So I need to get the actual roots...and these sell for R1000 per 500g. Which I think is quite expensive?

I'm so amped to give this a try! :D I've always put it down to "half-dreaming" as stated earlier... But I don't really wanna mess around with any herbs, that stuff just scares me :/ Oh, and learning stuff in your sleep? HECK YES! Haha, although I do need my rest, I'll still give it a shot just because of its sheer awesomeness! :)

Oh God...Let's hope the herbs didn't kill him xD

But I read that Calea can cause extreme nausea? So wir? Did you have that uber dream of awesomeness? Or did you see last night's dinner? ;)

    Disappointing :(

The tea was horrid tasting, as I'd read, but not nauseating and I managed to get it down. No vivid or lucid dreams though. There was definitely something(beyond placebo at least) different though, sleep felt different.

I'm gonna try again tonight, hope for better results.

Exactly what I thought. It's a bitter tea to swallow eh? xD

Yup can't expect this stuff to give you vivid dreams or even lucid dreaming from one cup, You should drink it for at least 1 week. Then I'm sure you will get better results then.

Dude, how about smoking it, if it works? Maybe in a vaporizer (if you can find one)?

Slightly better results. I had some dreams and my recall is pretty decent, but that's about it.

Ah well. I might try again one day.
