Skyfall [ Bond 23 ]

London - The new James Bond film will be called Skyfall.
Up until now the movie - which will star Daniel Craig as 007 - has been known as Bond 23 but now Sony Pictures and MGM have registered a series of website names including JamesBond-Skyfall.com and SkyfallTheFilm.com, meaning bosses have made a decision on its title.
While the production of the film has experienced quite a few problems - including being delayed because of funding issues - Daniel recently revealed he was "as excited" about the forthcoming James Bond movie as he was with Casino Royale, the picture in which he first played the character.

He said: "We've got a great script this time. I'm as excited about this script as I was about the Casino Royale script. I think in Sam we've got the perfect director. The cast is coming together now. I can't wait to get going with it."
The production also had difficulties in securing filming locations in India due to red tape and a massive action sequence will now be shot in South Africa, reports Cover Media.
The movie is set to go into production soon, with Dame Judi Dench reviving the role of spy boss M, while Naomie Harris has been rumoured to be taking on the role of Ms Moneypenny.

Not much is known so far on Bond's next adventure accept that Javier Bardem has just been cast as the villain and that it will be shot here in our very own South Africa. From the very early looks of things, things are looking bright for Bond . . .

Apparently there was going to be one huge train scene shot in India, and my mind couldn't help but wonder to that scene in Uncharted 2.

What I want to know is, since some of it is being shot in SA now, will the scenes they were going to have in India still play off in India in the movie (only shot in SA), or will it now play out in SA, like a change of script ?

Last I heard, there wasn't going to be a next movie. Not that I'm complaining, the new Bond is amazing. I assume it picks up from the last game, seeing as they said the game furthers the story after Quantum of Solace?

Skyfall is the title of the 23rd Bond film.

This is perhaps the worst kept Bond secret with several web addresses already being registered using that title.

So what does this title refer to? At the risk of recklessly speculating: Could it be a device capable of bringing satellites hurtling towards major world cities (maybe a tad fanciful)? Or perhaps it's merely the MacGuffin's new codename?

One thing is certain, however: It's definitely better than Quantum of Solace, but then again most titles are.

Sam Mendes, the Academy Award winning director, confirmed that the film will see Bond in Shanghai, Istanbul and Scotland.

He also confirmed that Javier Bardem is "the villain of the piece." The director of American Beauty and Revolutionary Road took time to allay some fears, promising that despite his dramatic credentials "there will be plenty of action" in Skyfall and that the production has all the element of "a classic Bond movie."

I don't really mind the lack of gadgets, though. It was time for the Bond series to evolve a bit, and it did it well, imo.

I can understand that after the Jack White/Alicia Keys attempt they'd try and go for something a bit more "safe". It's a decent effort, but I suspect, forgettable. As generic a Bond theme as one can get.

So, okay. I'm not going to bother putting this in spoiler tags, so... erm... some minor spoilers may follow:

This was quite enjoyable. Sam Mendes did a surprisingly good job of directing an action film. It's a very serious Bond, and it keeps that tone throughout. Acting all round was good; Naomi Harris was was good fun, Bardem was a decent villain and I liked Fiennes' somewhat brief appearances.

And I especially liked the final act when thing went all Peckinpah.

Don't know about Best bond movie ever, as I've seen nothing before Pierce Brosnan, but certainly the best I've ever seen!

Best thing I can say about the movie is that it's stunningly shot, and beautiful to look at. The way they make use of radiant colours is amazing, especially during the whole Shanghai sequence.

Javier Bardem stole the show for me though. Really terrifying performance, even though he's the most comical character in the movie.

And Berenice Marlowe... like I said, stunning to look at!

Also, special mention for the chill-inducing opening sequence. When the piano started... movie heaven.

And to add; After watching this film, I've got to ask: Where is Bond gonna go from here?

Also, I've a feeling this may be Daniel Craig's last Bond film (or at least, last time playing Bond for the entire length of the film).
