Guys I've just realised that we might have stumbled upon an interesting debate, one that happened a few weeks ago in an
eGamer podcast (I believe episode 4) but not here.
Looking at DLC such as Lair of the Shadow Broker and The Arrival, those mini-expansions were rich with story elements that tied into the third game, we all agree with that. To the point that if you skipped those DLC packs for whatever reason, you would have some plot-holes going into the third game.
Now, do you think it's fair for developers to add story-rich content into DLC and then tie it in like that?
I believe it's fair because it rewards loyal customers who pay for the DLC and I would much rather have stuff like that instead of alternative costumes and random weapon skins. As long as it's available to all, there shouldn't be a problem.
I've noticed other games also do this. Alan Wake and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow instantly pop to mind.
Thoughts?
