I still enjoyed Conspiracy of One, but just lost interest in the band after that. I think the upcoming release is the third since that album?

I thank you two for the suggestions. Two great additions to my Operatic Metal library.

Clutch ****in rock dude. They've been touring with Tool and a host of other big bands for years now, yet are barely known outside the States.

@Yuri If you're a massive Clutch fan, you might also like Orange Goblin...

Grim, while I like the track above, I am not seeing too much of a similarity between Orange Goblin and Clutch, well besides the beards. However, I am gonna have a listen to them throughout the day as I cannot make a call after listening to just one song. I like their sound, but what appeals to me with Clutch are the heavy Blues influences. I'm not sure why but in the last year or so, I have really started to enjoy my Jazz, Blues and Classical again. Think I'm getting old :/

**EDIT** Nevermind, listening to some of their other tracks, Ima go plant me some cotton.

I beg to differ, Ixnay on the Hombre was a damn good album as well.

I got me some Sarah Brightman: Time to say Goodbye with Andrea Bochelli for my car. Goodness heavens that's awesome music. She's got one hell of a voice.

I've been really enjoying some oldschool 80's Power/Pop Metal. Two notable songs are Stan Bush's The Touch (as featured in American Dad S5Ep19) and St. Elmo's Fire by John Parr. Any song that makes me want to grow a mullet and some handlebars is worth its weight in gold. Play the tracks, and get ready to feel like a winner!!1!

I have to say I've loved most of the stuff The Offspring have put out over the years. I don't like the "comedic" stuff (comedic used in the loosest sense possible) but the rest is awesome. If you like old-school offspring you should check out Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, their 2008 album. They've got a couple of proper old punk tracks on it that I love.

I even enjoyed Splinter.... *finds cover for incoming **** storm*

@ Grim -This is gonna sound kinda weird - to be honest I don't actually know who all is in the mix. I tend to just create random playlists, stick it on shuffle, and enjoy. I know there's some Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald in there somewhere, as well as some stuff a mate of mine is doing, although that is more acid-jazz/lounge. While I enjoy Jazz, mostly in the background, I am a complete noob when it comes to the genre and I'm definitely not hardcore enough of a fan to pay for tickets to the Jazz festival, but I'll go if given the tickets. Any good suggestions?

Dammit! Had an entire recommendation post typed out, and Opera crashes as I click post reply.

    So here's the shorter version!

Jaga Jazzist for some post rock tinged jazz.
Gretchen Parlato for your sultry, smokey devil in a blue dress jazz needs
Ambrose Akinmusire is a mad man on the trumpet. The stuff he manages to pull off is jaw dropping
Also try Ben Allison and John Scofield. Oh, and Keith Jarrett.

Cool to see Jaga Jazzist employing a Downs Syndrome drummer... Seriously, check the video again, he definitely has a chromosome imbalance, guaranteed. Nice song though. Their general tone is surprisingly clear and deceptively simple when you consider they have a bajillion band members.

I just re-watched the vid, but for some reason I read your post as a System Of A Down drummer :/ I think I may need help...

I'm actually sad that I initially found that funny... I feel dirty inside after seeing that.

Yeah, that's a goody. For all the wrong reasons.
