Yeah, for the CE, I am in two minds. Awesome figurine and steel case, but the price is a little insane. Do a quick conversion of $149.99 and import duties and you realise just how much it comes out at. I really want to as the factions CE was worth it so yeah. Add an extra month to my CC payments or not...

Not only that, BT Games is going to get back to me about it. Takealot (bastards) have not got anything on their site about the CE either.

I conatacted Takealot about it and they are looking into it. Still don't think we will see anything on their webpage till the 10th though.


Btw been watching some beta videos yesterday and one can really see the size differences in the races. I like it. Really adds something to the game seeing how clearly different the races are.

Will this run as smooth and use as little data as the original did? remember that guild wars was completely playable on dailup.

@ Telur - Awesome pic. will be nice to play the other races we met in GW1, except Sylvari of course, that will be all new.

@ Malmarius - In my honest opinion, I think GW2 will be a lot harder on data, & low ping reliance than GW1. It is a sequel, but when it comes to gamplay, it's a completely different beast.

Definitely not bad at all. I would however like to see what the CE price is because I have been a good little boy for a long time and not bought any new games for about 2 years so yeah. I am really eager to get the CE. First treat I have gotten myself.

From what I've seen, I'm not drawn into GW2 like I was with the first one. Think I'm just over MMO's in a way. I'll keep a close eye on reviews though.

So I see that TakeALot has Guild Wars 2 Collector's on pre-order at around R1300....and the regular version for R429. Either there is something wrong with their prices or the game will be really expensive....

The price for the CE version sounds about right. We have known for a while that it will be fairly expensive.

Also takealot just confirmed this is still only the pre-order the pre-purchase option is still coming next week.

I can't say you should buy it, but I think i've watched about every video going, & followed the GW2 Website since it started. If you have any questions id be happy to impart any info I have.

I've mostly watched all the vids that TotalBiscuit has been uploading on Youtube... It makes me SO excited everytime I open a vid! Can't imagine what the game will do to me! I just know the hype is going to cause disappointment in some way! Q_Q

I'd love to get the CE, but I'd rather keep the money so I can afford a PC that can run the game instead! :P

Yes I saw that TakeALot was sold out on CE even before it was available. I made a pre-order for the CE at BT Games but saw that I had to pay in full and it's R1299. That is a lot for a CE, especially on PC. I'm still not 100% sold on this game. I have been looking at a lot of videos online but none has really made me excited for it yet.

Sigh....been trying to do the pre-purchase from btgames all day today( checked with btgames fourways, northgate, menlyn, and brooklyn), and all stores are saying the same thing: the standard edition hasnt been added to their system, and they do not have the codes to sign up for beta yet, as well as all the other goodies, and so they cant sell it to me.....


Just tried preordering on their site, and hoping that that will help me secure a copy, as i have heard that btgames only got 260 prepurchase copies.



edit: Oh, and the price for standard edition has gone up to R460 (roughly) on kalahari
