Thread: Minding Your Mitochondria

    Default Minding Your Mitochondria

    Check it!

Found this on twitter and was really intrigued by it. Food lovers, what do you think about this? Is this doable? Will this actually improve my overall health and stuff? Isn't this going to cost an arm and a leg?

I've been wondering lately if I can form an almost perfectly healthy diet within budget (That still tastes good and would be easy to make) and would like some feedback from people that eat proper. I also wanted to break this from the other exercise and diet thread because this has nothing to do with supplement and ****.

    What say you?

The hunter-gatherer diet has been cooking up a storm for like a decade already.

Edit: One issue I find with the video is that she's telling you to not eat other stuff. Which is completely outside the context of her actual presentation.

She actually mentions eating the vegetables before going to milk products, bread and other things somewhere in there before mentioning that the diet solves food allergy problems.

Personally, I couldn't follow that diet so strictly. I already have a healthy one, but its expensive to live and eat healthily. Fish prices are the highest in eight years, even vegetables and gluten-free wholewheat breads are expensive. I'm guilty of sneaking away chocolates, snacking on samoosas and even the odd McDonald's every now and then - but I'm still healthy.

I guess a lot of it has to do with moderation. Tonight I had a grilled chicken breast and half a plate of salad with some Ina Paarman's Honey&Mustard salad dressing. I drank some water with it and had a cup of coffee afterwards, and I was quite full after. I'm not on a perfectly balanced diet, but I'm close enough.

The question is of course: Is it a fad, or the future of nutrition?
