You guys really need an event calendar. Went to your website and facebook couldn't find out anything about upcoming events.

Also you state bring controllers, but don't mention platform. Does that mean everyone uses arcade sticks?

An event calendar would work if this was out jobs :) sadly it's not, we just do this to bring the guys and community together and get the scene active. Maybe if it ever grows we can look at having a calendar for now we take tournaments one at a time and don't really plan that far ahead so having a calendar would just be pointless as it would have one event all the time :) So we opted for a page on the website dedicated to the next upcoming event.

In fighters all tournaments, international as well it is standard format to run on PS3, what ever tournament you go to in SA whether it be JHB or CPT it will be run on PS3, this is the standard platform format for fighters.

Are you allowed to use fighting sticks though?

I'll be getting one when Tekken Tag2 launches. Have no idea which one though. I'll parry that kick when I get to it.

Yes sticks are allowed, no reason to ban sticks but no turbo functions will be allowed.

Some of our prizes for tournaments are sticks, so wouldn't be cool to tell the guys no you can't use these. Not very many people use sticks at the tournaments but there are a few that do.

Tournament is starting at 11:30am this weekend at the AWX store in BWC

For those of you practicing SFxT:

    Rules for SFxT:

Just to reiterate, the PS3 exclusive characters are banned, so no Cats, Cole, Pac-Man and Megaman will be allowed in the tournament.

No gems will be used, all characters will have a custom gem set with no gems.

Both Kazuya's and Xiaoyu's infinite's are banned, you can do a maximum of 1 rep with each anything more and you forfeit the round.

If any player lands Jin's overhead spin glitch they will not be allowed to follow it up with anything besides a light punch to reset the character. The spins wastes time and I think the quickest way to get over this if it does happen is just to LP the character out of it.

Matches are best out of 3, 2 rounds per match, 99 seconds per round, random stage selection, double elimination.

Lastly, Please bring your own controllers. Tournament is run on PS3.

Thanks to everyone that made it out yesterday, was great to see the old faces and some new faces as well. Hope to see everyone back at Sodium Overload 2.

We had a good crowd for Tekken 6 which ended with Draeka taking 1st place followed by Shadow Joe in 2nd place and Clayton taking 3rd.

Some great matches in that tournament.

For SFxT it was a singles tournament with Jag taking 1st place, Draeka in 2nd and Eccomancer taking 3rd place. Was great to see the variety in characters as well, something I didn't really expect but I think SO2 may be a bit boring when it comes to the character variety on hand.

Looking forward to see what new stuff everyone brings to SO2.

Brackets can be found on our website, again this was a live feed for those players that tuned in for that:

    Pictures will be posted soon.

Again big thanks to AWX for the awesome venue and prizes, they are really helping out the community.
