    Default April Fools Ideas

    I need some.

Thing is, I don't want to do something where it'll be over in a second. I'd like something that ran throughout the day, and involved as many people as possible.

Best I could come up with is to select a victim, and have each person give him a call, and proceed to talk to him like he's on his deathbed, saying things like, "I've always cherished our friendship", maybe asking philosophical questions like the purpose of the universe, or telling him random facts about cats.

Important part is, I don't want him to catch onto what we're doing too quickly, if that's possible.

    What you guys got?

Well here's one that had been pulled on me some years ago (I was working for a spur).

My manager came up to me and asked me to taste this glass of Creme-Soda because a 'client' had 'complained that it was flat' and he asked me to be a tester just to verify that it was flat, and after drinking about 1/2 a mouthful I realized that not only was the Creme-Soda flat, there was no Creme-Soda in there at all. There was only dish washing liquid in the glass. We then decided to somehow trick some of the other waiters into drinking that same glass (i.e who could drink a glass of creme soda the quickest, etc)

Dishwashing liquid? That doesn't sound very healthy.

All good pranks end in stomach pumps.

I should add that I don't want to do anything too sinister. Your manager rocks though.

I think you should go with CatFactsDaily. Harmless fun.

I've never been into pranks myself, we simply never did it in our family.

If you do IT and want the day off here is what I did last year:
    1. sellotape under mouse laser of the second dumbest IT person in office
    2. take a screenshot of the dumbest IT persons desktop, remove all icons and put the screenshot as the desktop.
    3. make copies on the office copier of a paperclip. put the pages with the printed paperclip on back in the printer tray. every copy will have a paperclip on and the search for the clip will begin.
Cause random chaos and blame the I D 10 T virus. Last year i spent my whole day "troubleshooting"

Sellotape on the connectors of plugs also work well. Pulling out the plug and a quick inspection shouldn't reveal the tape if the person isn't observant. We did this in school to skip demonstrations and subsequently class in Science class.

EDIT: Oh, two others the guys at the office did the other day:

    1. Sellotaped the little tab on the telephone to the phone itself. Phone rings, you pick up and it just keeps ringing. We have these weird smart IP phones, and you don't really see the tab, so this worked very well.
    2. Placed a two-way radio on high volume in the trash can of someone in the centre of the office. Fart noises-commence. Took a while for me to find out where the noises came from.

My one friend made a A4 notification saying "New voice activated system. Please speak clearly." and stuck it on the coffee vending machine. So many people fell for it, he told me that the whole day they would hear people screaming from the kitchen for their coffee. LOL

I want to try this one due to the fact that I am at work 6h30 in the mornings... :D

Sunday is a horrible day for April fool's if you aren't working.

That's actually a great idea. If you have swing-type doors in your place of work, place a printout sign saying "New Voice Controlled doors. Please speak loudly and clearly to enter."

If you have those electronic doors you can stick a piece of black insulation tape over the eye? Or you can stick a piece of black insulation tape over the safety eye of an electronic gate? Both wont work very lekker.

    @ Soulmantle
Some people do work on Sundays.

Or do it Monday, a belated April fools joke. :P
    No one would expect that...

So I came home to find my brother had glued a ****load of coins that I had in my wallet together. They amount to about R12, so I'm tempted to hand them in as-is for my airtime recharge.

Blizzard was once again epic, taking shots at Mass Effect 3 in particular.
