Great looking to get this, first question did you get into the beta? what bandwidth did it use? the first was playable on a dial-up which was cool so can you give me a mb per hour usage stat? I'm torn b between this and diablo 3 as both will destroy my social life.

Very excited about this game only thing I'm wondering is if a 1Mb line will be enough to play without much lag?

Broadband is generally 512 and above so 1mb should be sufficient so long as you make sure there is nothing else running in the background.

I can see me doing a lot of late night gaming at the office due to lack of broadband at home.

Glad to hear, would have been a bummer to have really bad lag and stuff. Anyway what classes/professions you guys thinking of making?

I think im starting with a Human Necro. Not sure if it will be my main yet, but I can test in the pre-play. Haven't decided on others yet. I will however fill up my character slots immediately to secure any names I want to use later.

Taking up the names beforehand seems like a good idea to me, I might do that as well. I think I'll start with an Asura Engineer :)

Phreak, from what I can tell it is not necessary to go over 30/50. Think nothing more than a few titles after that.

@antharias: ok. And the armor and weapons you get from it will probly not stay usefull for very long. The ranger pet rewards are nice though.

In all honesty, I am unsure of the mechanics of the armour and so forth and whether it will change as you go along or not. All I can say is that the last item is unlocked at 30 and I am not bothering to go for the remaining 4 titles that follow as the cash required would just mean endless farming.

@antharias: Not gonna bother farming for more rewards either. Not worth the time or effort.

It is a long slog to get 50, but not impossible. It all depends on whether you want the achievements or not. I personally did it, but it took me 8 months of playing every evening to get from 15 to 50. I didn't see this as effort though, as the game is there to be played :)

Sinner, while I would love to spend my evenings gaming away like that, I have work and social obligations that come in my way. Most work as I spend my life here, literally lately :P.

That's a fair point, I wasn't knocking your decision. I have my own graphics business, a Wife (also a GW fan), & a 2yr old child, so I fully realise other obligations. I was going to stop at 30 also, but at the time I thought I may as well keep going & was lucky enough to finish. I never watch TV so no time wasted there.

Back on topic though, I saw you mentioned how long the stuff will be useful, probably not long for the armor as Phreak mentioned, but the pets & mini's are always worth having. I am a self confessed loot whore. If it's there.. I want it :)

I am spending some of my spare time reading through all known info on armor, & game mechanics etc. so I will always try to help when the game gets going with items & info.

Well, I've been attempting to get Service Providers, BT Games etc. to host a local copy of the client when it comes out, as not everyone has the international cap to download the GW2 Client, especially in the last week of the month when it's mostly used up. No joy as yet :(

If anyone does download it in the Gordons Bay area, I certainly would appreciate a copy before the BWE. I do recall BT games taking in a file of the Aion download & copying it for people who came in with sufficient media to take it.

If I do hear back form anyone willing to host a client locally, I will post details.

From what I understand. The beta needs to downloaded in full every time for each time. Even if they could host the beta used for the last stress test, it's not going to be compatible with the next OBW. I will try and find a reliable source for this info and will update my post based on the findings.
